Free Bet vs Bonus Cash: Alin ang Mas Mahalaga? (May Computation sa Peso)

"P1,000 free bet." "P1,000 bonus cash." Parehong P1,000 ang nakasulat, pero hindi pareho ang halaga. Depending on how a sportsbook or casino structures it, a P1,000 promotion can be worth anywhere from about a third of that amount to nearly the full P1,000 in real terms. The difference comes down to two questions: is your stake returned when you win, and do you have to wager the money before you can withdraw it?
This guide explains the difference between free bets, bonus cash and cash rewards, gives peso value tables you can use, shows the best way to use each, and helps you decide which suits your style. For how Cloudbet structures its own rewards, see our Cloudbet bonus guide.

Mga depinisyon muna
| Type | What you receive | When you win | When you lose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free bet, stake not returned (SNR) | A bet token for a fixed amount | You get the winnings only, not the free stake | You get nothing; the token is used up |
| Free bet, stake returned (SR) | A bet token; rarer | You get winnings plus the stake | You get nothing |
| Bonus cash | Bonus funds in your account | Winnings are added to bonus or real balance, depending on terms | Bonus funds are lost |
| Cash reward | Real, withdrawable money | Like any real-money bet | Like any real-money bet |
Most sportsbook "free bets" are SNR. Most casino "bonuses" are bonus cash with wagering (rollover). Cash rewards are the simplest: money is money.
Paano kinukuwenta ang halaga ng free bet (SNR)
With an SNR free bet, a winning P1,000 free bet at odds of 2.00 pays P1,000 (the profit), not P2,000. So the value depends heavily on the odds you choose. A rough formula for the expected value of an SNR free bet:
Value ≈ stake x (odds − 1) ÷ odds x (1 − margin)
Using a typical bookmaker margin of about 5%, here is what a P1,000 SNR free bet is worth on average at different odds:
| Odds used (decimal) | Chance of winning (approx.) | Payout if it wins | Average value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.50 | about 63% | P500 | about P317 |
| 2.00 | about 48% | P1,000 | about P475 |
| 2.50 | about 38% | P1,500 | about P570 |
| 3.00 | about 32% | P2,000 | about P633 |
| 4.00 | about 24% | P3,000 | about P712 |
| 5.00 | about 19% | P4,000 | about P760 |
| 10.00 | about 9.5% | P9,000 | about P855 |
The pattern is clear: SNR free bets keep more of their value at longer odds, because the stake you "lose" when winning is a smaller share of the payout. Using a P1,000 free bet on a heavy PBA favourite at 1.50 throws away about two-thirds of its average value.
Two caveats. First, longer odds mean you win less often; a P1,000 free bet at 10.00 will usually lose. If you would rather have a likely small win, that is a valid choice, just a lower-value one. Second, bookmakers often build bigger margins into longshot prices (sometimes called the favourite-longshot bias), so the real value at very long odds is usually lower than the table suggests. In practice, many bettors find odds of roughly 3.00 to 5.00 on main markets a sensible balance.
Stake-returned free bets
An SR free bet behaves like a real bet: if it wins, you get the stake back as well. Its average value is close to the full stake minus the margin, about P950 for P1,000 at 5%, whatever odds you use. SR free bets are much rarer than SNR. Check the terms; if the description does not say "stake returned," assume it is not.
Paano malalaman kung SNR o SR ang free bet
Terms rarely use the abbreviations. Look for phrases such as "free bet stakes are not included in returns" or "winnings exclude the free bet stake," which mean stake not returned. "Returns include stake" means stake returned. If the bet slip shows potential returns before you place the bet, compare them with the odds: a P500 free bet at 3.00 showing P1,000 potential returns is SNR; one showing P1,500 is SR. When in doubt, assume SNR and value it that way; you will never overestimate an offer by doing so.
Paano kinukuwenta ang halaga ng bonus cash
Bonus cash usually comes with rollover: you must wager it (and sometimes your deposit too) a number of times before withdrawing. Each wager carries the bookmaker's margin or the casino's house edge, so rollover has a cost.
Value ≈ bonus − (bonus x rollover x average edge)
For P1,000 of bonus cash with rollover on the bonus only, at an average expected loss of about 4.8% per peso wagered (main sports markets at around a 5% margin):
| Rollover on bonus only | Total to wager | Approximate value |
|---|---|---|
| 1x | P1,000 | about P952 |
| 3x | P3,000 | about P856 |
| 5x | P5,000 | about P760 |
| 8x | P8,000 | about P616 |
| 10x | P10,000 | about P520 |
If rollover applies to deposit plus bonus, the total to wager doubles (for a 100% match) and the value drops sharply. On casino games, the cost depends on the game's house edge: slots at 4% or more cost more per peso wagered than low-edge table games, and many bonuses count table games at a reduced rate or not at all.
This is an average. Because your balance can run out before you finish, actual outcomes are spread out: some players finish with more, many with less or nothing.
Side-by-side: tatlong "P1,000" na promo
| Promotion | Typical terms | Approximate average value | Flexibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1,000 SNR free bet | Single use, min odds, expires in 7 days | about P475 at odds 2.00; about P633 at 3.00 | Low: one bet, chosen markets |
| P1,000 bonus cash, 5x rollover on bonus | Min odds per bet, 30-day deadline | about P760 on main markets | Medium: many bets, but locked until rollover is done |
| P1,000 cash reward | Withdrawable | P1,000 | High: use or withdraw freely |
Same headline, very different values. When comparing promotions, convert each into an approximate peso value with the tables above, then consider how much betting each one requires you to do.
Ang mga terms na dapat basahin sa free bets
- Stake returned or not. The biggest single factor.
- Minimum odds. Some free bets require odds of 1.50 or more; this rarely hurts, because you want longer odds anyway.
- Maximum odds. Some cap odds, limiting the strategy of using free bets at longer prices.
- Expiry. Free bets often expire in days.
- Single use or splittable. Most must be used in one bet; some can be split.
- Markets allowed. Some exclude live betting, specific sports or parlays; others are only for parlays.
- Cash out. Usually disabled on free bets.
- Winnings form. Winnings may be cash or bonus funds with further rollover. Cash winnings are far better.
Ang mga terms na dapat basahin sa bonus cash
- Rollover multiple and base (bonus only or deposit plus bonus).
- Minimum odds for bets to count.
- Game or market weighting on casino bonuses.
- Max bet while the bonus is active.
- Deadline for completing rollover.
- Order of funds: real money first or bonus first.
- Withdrawal rules: whether requesting a withdrawal cancels the bonus.
- Maximum cashout from bonus winnings.
Paano gamitin nang matalino ang free bet
- Use it on longer odds than you normally would, within reason, ideally around 3.00 to 5.00 on markets you understand.
- Use it on a market with a fair price, such as a main spread, total or moneyline, rather than a high-margin prop or parlay.
- Do not add your own money to "make the bet worth it."
- Use it before expiry, but do not force it onto a game you have no view on just because it is expiring; a small loss of value is better than a bad bet with real money afterwards.
- Treat winnings as real money and withdraw them if they are cash.
Example: a P500 SNR free bet. Used on a PBA favourite at 1.45, a win pays P225. Used on a reasonable underdog at 3.20, a win pays P1,100. The underdog bet wins less often, but on average keeps much more of the free bet's value.
Paano gamitin nang matalino ang bonus cash
- Check that the rollover fits your normal betting. If you usually bet P3,000 a month, a P5,000 rollover in 30 days changes your habits.
- Clear it on low-margin markets with your normal stake size.
- Avoid parlays for rollover unless required; margins multiply.
- Respect minimum odds and max bet.
- Withdraw once cleared.
- Cancel if it stops making sense, where terms allow you to forfeit the bonus and keep your real-money balance.
Free bet sa parlay: sulit ba?
Using an SNR free bet on a parlay looks attractive, because parlays have long odds and long odds keep more of a free bet's value. The catch is that each leg adds the bookmaker's margin. A three-leg parlay at about 5% margin per leg carries a combined margin of roughly 13.6%.
Compare a P1,000 free bet on a single at odds of 5.00 (about P760 average value at 5% margin) with a three-leg parlay at combined odds of 6.00 (about P720 at 13.6% margin). The single keeps more value despite the shorter odds. Parlays are not forbidden fruit, but if you want long odds for a free bet, a single underdog or a main-market longshot usually beats a stacked parlay. If a free bet is parlay-only, choose fewer legs on low-margin markets.
Ang cost ng qualifying bet
"Bet P1,000, get a P1,000 free bet" requires a real-money qualifying bet first. That bet carries the usual margin, so its expected cost is about P50 on a main market at 5%, more on high-margin markets. Some offers require the qualifying bet at minimum odds, or only pay the free bet if the qualifying bet loses. Include the qualifying bet's cost in your calculation: a P1,000 SNR free bet worth about P633 at odds of 3.00, minus a P50 qualifying cost, is worth about P583 in total.
Casino equivalents: bonus chips at free spins
Casinos have their own versions. Free spins are effectively slot free bets: fixed-value spins whose winnings often come as bonus cash with wagering. "Bonus chips" or "free chips" are bonus cash for table or slot games, almost always with rollover and game weighting. The same logic applies: convert to an expected peso value using the house edge of the games you will play, and consider how much play the terms require.
I-track ang halaga ng promos sa loob ng isang taon
Keep a simple log of every promotion you take: type, headline amount, your estimated value using the tables above, and what you actually received after terms. Over a year, you will see which kinds of promotions were genuinely worth it for you and which mostly led to extra betting. Many bettors find that a few simple offers (cash rewards, low-rollover bonuses, well-used free bets) delivered most of the value, while complicated promotions delivered little.

Isang paalala tungkol sa matched betting at "arbing"
Some online guides teach covering a free bet with an opposite bet at another book to lock in a guaranteed share of its value. Sportsbooks' terms often restrict bonus abuse, betting both sides, and multiple or linked accounts, and books can limit or close accounts they consider to be exploiting offers. Beyond the rules, these techniques involve multiple accounts, deposits and lots of betting volume. For most bettors, using free bets sensibly on bets they would genuinely like is simpler and less risky.
Free bets sa mga paboritong sports ng Pinoy
PBA: Favourites are often short-priced, which wastes SNR free bet value. Spreads near even money or a competitive underdog keep more value. Check that the free bet allows PBA markets at your sportsbook.
NBA: Many games and deep markets give plenty of choice at 2.50 to 4.00, including moneyline underdogs and alternate spreads. Morning tip-offs in Philippine time make it easy to use a free bet before work, but resist adding extra real-money bets alongside it.
Boxing and MMA: Big fights often have one heavy favourite. Underdog moneylines can retain free bet value well; method or round bets offer long odds but usually higher margins.
Esports (MLBB, Dota): Check whether free bets apply to esports at all. Margins can be wider than on major sports.
Bonus cash sa casino: isang halimbawa
Hypothetical: P1,000 casino bonus cash with 30x rollover on the bonus, slots counting 100%, table games 10%. Clearing it on slots with a 4% house edge means P30,000 of wagering and an expected cost of about P1,200, more than the bonus. On blackjack or baccarat at around a 1% edge, the cost per peso is lower, but at 10% weighting you would need P300,000 of table play to clear it, with an expected cost of around P3,000. Either way, a 30x casino bonus is mostly a way of buying extra play, not a source of value. Lower rollover, or no bonus, is usually the better choice.
Mga tanong para sa support bago tumanggap
- Is the free bet stake returned or not?
- Are free bet winnings paid as cash or bonus funds?
- Is rollover on the bonus only or deposit plus bonus?
- Can I cancel the bonus later and keep my real-money balance?
- Which sports and markets are excluded?
Save the answers from official chat or email. Clear, specific replies are a good sign about the operator; vague or contradictory ones are a reason to be careful with any promotion they offer.
Alin ang bagay sa betting style mo?
Casual PBA or boxing fan who bets a few times a month: a free bet or small cash reward suits you best. Bonus cash with rollover would push you to bet more often than you want.
Daily NBA or football bettor: bonus cash with low rollover on the bonus only can fit, because you would wager the amount anyway. Free bets are a nice extra.
Parlay lover: be careful. Parlay-only free bets can be fun, but bonus cash cleared on parlays costs much more on average.
Casino player: casino bonus cash usually has heavier rollover and game weighting; check that your preferred games count. Free spins work like slot free bets; our crypto casino free spins guide explains their value.
Player who values simple withdrawals: cash rewards or no bonus at all.
Cash rewards at Cloudbet
Cloudbet structures its welcome offer around cash rewards rather than free bet tokens. Its welcome page describes up to $2,500 in cash rewards released over 30 days from your first deposit, plus 10% rakeback and daily cash drops. Cash released into your balance behaves like real money once credited, which avoids the stake-not-returned issue of free bets. "Up to" is a maximum scaled to your deposits and play, not a guaranteed amount, and rewards are released over time, so check Cloudbet's own pages for current release rules and terms.
Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao and is not licensed by PAGCOR, so Philippine regulators cannot help with disputes, and its terms exclude residents of jurisdictions that prohibit crypto gambling.
Halimbawang desisyon: dalawang offer, isang bettor
Hypothetical. Mark bets about P2,000 a month on NBA and PBA main markets. Book X offers a P1,500 SNR free bet after a P1,500 qualifying bet. Book Y offers P1,500 bonus cash with 8x rollover on deposit plus bonus.
Book X: his qualifying bet costs about 5% in expected terms (about P75), and the free bet used at odds around 3.00 is worth about P950. Expected value: roughly P875, with no change to his habits.
Book Y: a P1,500 deposit plus P1,500 bonus with 8x rollover means P24,000 of betting, twelve times his monthly volume, and an expected cost of around P1,150 at a 4.8% expected loss. Even before considering the behaviour change, the value is small. Mark chooses Book X.
Mabilisang paraan para i-value ang kahit anong promo
- Identify the type: SNR free bet, SR free bet, bonus cash, or cash reward.
- Estimate base value: for SNR free bets, use the odds table; for bonus cash, subtract rollover cost; cash rewards are face value.
- Subtract qualifying costs: any real-money bet or deposit wagering required to unlock it.
- Adjust for caps and expiry: maximum winnings, maximum cashout, deadlines you may miss.
- Do the behaviour check: would you bet this much, on these markets, in this time frame anyway?
Five quick steps turn a flashy headline into a realistic peso figure. If the figure is small or the behaviour check fails, skip the promotion. You lose nothing by saying no, and you keep complete control of your money and your betting plan.
Mga common na pagkakamali
- Treating "P1,000 free bet" as P1,000 cash. It is usually worth much less.
- Using SNR free bets on heavy favourites, keeping only a fraction of the value.
- Using free bets on high-margin parlays or props when main markets are allowed.
- Depositing extra to get bigger bonus cash with heavy rollover.
- Letting free bets expire or forcing them onto bad bets at the last minute.
- Withdrawing mid-rollover and losing the bonus.
- Chasing with real money after a free bet loses.
Mga myth
"Ang free bet ay libreng pera." It is a free bet token whose value depends on the odds you use and whether the stake is returned.
"Mas malaki ang bonus cash, mas maganda." Rollover can make a bigger bonus worth less than a smaller one.
"Dapat gamitin ang free bet sa pinaka-sure na taya." With SNR free bets, the safest bets keep the least value.
Red flags
- "Free bets" that require a further deposit to unlock winnings.
- Terms that do not state whether stakes are returned or how winnings are paid.
- Bonus cash with rollover above 15x on deposit plus bonus.
- Offers made through agents or personal e-wallets.

Bottom line
A free bet and bonus cash with the same headline can be worth very different amounts. SNR free bets keep more value at longer odds, roughly P475 per P1,000 at odds of 2.00 and over P600 at 3.00. Bonus cash loses value with every multiple of rollover, from about P950 at 1x to about P520 at 10x on the bonus alone. Cash rewards are worth face value. Convert every offer into pesos, check how much betting it requires, and pick the one that fits how you already bet.
Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)

Ano ang stake-returned free bet?
A free bet that pays both winnings and the stake if it wins. It is worth close to its face value minus the margin, but it is rare.
Free bet ba ang reward ng Cloudbet?
Cloudbet's welcome page describes up to $2,500 in cash rewards over 30 days, plus 10% rakeback and daily cash drops, rather than free bet tokens. It is not PAGCOR-licensed.
Alin ang mas maganda para sa casual bettor?
Usually a free bet or a cash reward, because bonus cash with rollover often requires more betting than a casual bettor does.
