Banker wins45.86%50.68%
Player wins44.62%49.32%
Tie9.52%–

These are the standard figures for punto banco, the version played in most casinos and online live tables, with eight decks. Numbers change very slightly with six decks, but the pattern is the same: Banker wins about 1.24 percentage points more often than Player.

Bakit mas madalas manalo ang Banker

In punto banco, nobody makes decisions; the drawing rules are fixed. The Player hand acts first: it draws a third card on totals of 0–5 and stands on 6 or 7. The Banker hand then follows a more detailed table that depends on its own total and the Player's third card. Because the Banker acts second, its rules use information about the Player's hand, which gives it a small advantage. That advantage is the reason casinos charge commission on Banker wins.

The essential Banker drawing rules, when the Player has drawn a third card:

Banker totalBanker draws if Player's third card is
0–2Always draws
3Anything except 8
42–7
54–7
66 or 7
7Stands

If the Player stands, the Banker draws on 0–5 and stands on 6–7. Either hand with a natural 8 or 9 on the first two cards ends the round.

Payouts at commission

BetStandard payout
Player1 to 1
Banker1 to 1 minus 5% commission (pays 0.95 to 1)
TieUsually 8 to 1; some tables pay 9 to 1

On a Tie, Banker and Player bets are usually returned (a push). A ₱1,000 Banker win pays ₱950 profit; a ₱1,000 Player win pays ₱1,000.

House edge ng bawat bet

BetHouse edgeAverage loss per ₱1,000 bet
Banker (5% commission)1.06%about ₱10.60
Player1.24%about ₱12.40
Tie at 8 to 114.36%about ₱143.60
Tie at 9 to 14.84%about ₱48.40

Even after the 5% commission, Banker has the lowest house edge. The difference between Banker and Player is small, about 0.18 percentage points, but it is consistent. The Tie bet at 8 to 1 is one of the worst bets in the casino.

Paano kinalkula ang house edge

For the Player bet: you win 1 unit 44.62% of the time, lose 1 unit 45.86% of the time, and push 9.52% of the time. Expected value = 0.4462 − 0.4586 = −0.0124, a house edge of 1.24%.

For the Banker bet: you win 0.95 units 45.86% of the time and lose 1 unit 44.62% of the time. Expected value = 0.95 × 0.4586 − 0.4462 = 0.4357 − 0.4462 = −0.0106, a house edge of about 1.06%.

For the Tie at 8 to 1: you win 8 units 9.52% of the time and lose 1 unit 90.48% of the time. Expected value = 0.7616 − 0.9048 = −0.1432, close to the standard 14.36% figure (the small difference is rounding).

No-commission baccarat

Many online and live tables offer "no commission" or "EZ" baccarat. Banker wins pay 1 to 1 without commission, but with an exception: a Banker win with a total of 6 usually pays only half (1 to 2), or in some versions, a Banker win on a three-card 7 pushes. This exception recovers the casino's edge. In the common "Banker 6 pays half" version, the Banker bet's house edge rises to about 1.46%, higher than the 1.06% at a standard commission table. Player odds stay the same. So no-commission tables feel simpler but are slightly more expensive for Banker bettors. Check the table rules before playing.

Ano ang ibig sabihin nito sa bankroll mo

Suppose you bet ₱200 per hand for 100 hands, ₱20,000 wagered in total. Your expected loss is about ₱212 on Banker and about ₱248 on Player, but your actual result will vary widely. Over 100 hands, swings of several thousand pesos either way are normal. The house edge decides the long-term average; variance decides your night.

Live baccarat tables online can deal 60 or more hands an hour. At ₱200 per hand, that is ₱12,000 wagered an hour and an expected loss of about ₱127 per hour on Banker, more on side bets. Speed of play is a hidden cost.

Streaks at "patterns" sa scoreboard

Baccarat tables display scoreboards (big road, bead plate, derived roads) that track past results. Many players use them to spot "streaks" or "chops." Mathematically, each hand is nearly independent of the previous ones; the cards already dealt from an eight-deck shoe change probabilities only by tiny amounts that are not useful for ordinary players. A run of five Banker wins does not make Player "due," and does not make Banker "hot." Enjoy the scoreboard as entertainment, not as a strategy. In our simulated two million hands, the chance of Banker winning the next hand was essentially the same after a Banker win as after a Player win.

Side bets

Live and online tables often offer side bets such as Player Pair, Banker Pair, Dragon Bonus or Lucky 6. These have much higher house edges than Banker or Player, often well above 5%, depending on the paytable. If you want the lowest cost, stick to Banker or Player.

Simulation: 2 milyong kamay

To check the theory, we wrote our own baccarat simulator using full punto banco drawing rules and eight-deck shoes, and dealt two million hands. Banker won 45.88%, Player 44.56% and Tie 9.55%, matching the standard figures within random variation.

We then split the hands into 100-hand sessions with a flat ₱200 bet on every hand (₱20,000 wagered per session):

BetAverage result per sessionSessions finishing aheadWorst 10% of sessionsBest 10% of sessions
Banker (5% commission)−₱19444.9%−₱2,590 or worse+₱2,250 or better
Player−₱26442.5%−₱2,800 or worse+₱2,200 or better

Two things stand out. First, the average loss is small relative to the swings: a session can easily end ₱2,500 up or down, while the average cost is around ₱200. That is why baccarat feels beatable on a good night. Second, over many sessions, Banker bettors finish ahead a little more often and lose a little less on average than Player bettors, exactly as the house edge predicts. Neither finishes ahead more often than not.

Card counting sa baccarat?

In blackjack, tracking cards can give skilled players a small edge in some conditions. In baccarat, researchers have found that card removal effects are tiny for Banker and Player bets. Advantage situations arise rarely, mostly late in a shoe and mainly for side bets, and they are too small and infrequent to be practical for ordinary players. Online live tables also often shuffle or cut deep in the shoe. For practical purposes, assume no counting strategy will overcome the house edge on Banker or Player.

Paano pumili ng baccarat table

Betting systems: Martingale, Paroli at iba pa

Baccarat attracts betting systems: doubling after losses (Martingale), increasing after wins (Paroli), following the last result, or betting against streaks. None changes the house edge, because each bet still carries the same 1.06% or 1.24% cost. What systems change is the shape of results: Martingale produces many small wins and occasional large losses when a losing run meets the table maximum or your bankroll limit. Over enough hands, the average loss per peso wagered stays the same, and systems that raise stakes simply increase the total wagered, and therefore the total expected loss.

Commission sa maliliit na bets

At physical tables, commission is often tracked and collected at the end of the shoe, or rounded. Online and live tables calculate it exactly: a ₱100 Banker win pays ₱95. A few tables round commission in the house's favour on odd amounts; betting in multiples of ₱20 or ₱100 avoids awkward fractions. Check the payout on your first Banker win to make sure it matches the table's stated rule.

Halimbawa ng session plan

Hypothetical. Rico sets a ₱4,000 session budget for live baccarat. He bets ₱100 per hand on Banker at a standard commission table, about 2.5% of his budget, and limits himself to 60 hands, about an hour. His expected cost is roughly ₱64 for the session, but he knows swings of ₱1,000 or more are normal. He decides in advance to stop if he loses ₱2,000 or wins ₱2,000. He avoids side bets and the Tie. Whatever happens, he logs the result and does not start a second session the same night.

Mga myths

Practical na payo

Online baccarat sa Pilipinas

Baccarat is one of the most popular games at Philippine casinos and on live dealer platforms. PAGCOR-licensed operators offer it, and offshore crypto casinos such as Cloudbet, our affiliate partner, offer live baccarat tables too. Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao, not by PAGCOR. The same probabilities apply on any fair table; what changes are commission rules, side bets and table limits. You must be at least 21 to gamble in the Philippines.

Responsible na paalala

Baccarat is fast, simple and social, which makes it easy to play far longer than planned, especially at live tables that deal a hand every minute or so. The low house edge does not make it a way to earn money; it makes it a relatively cheap form of entertainment if you control stakes and time. Set a budget before you sit down, take breaks, and stop when you reach your limit. If you find yourself chasing losses or playing with money meant for something else, our responsible gambling page lists free Philippine helplines.

Bottom line

In standard eight-deck baccarat, Banker wins 45.86% of hands, Player 44.62% and Tie 9.52%. Banker's slight advantage comes from acting second under fixed drawing rules, which is why it pays 0.95 to 1. Even so, Banker has the lowest house edge at 1.06%, Player 1.24%, and Tie at 8 to 1 a costly 14.36%. Pick Banker or Player, avoid Tie and side bets, watch the speed of play and treat any result as entertainment, not income.
