Bakit maraming "USDT" sa GCash?

USDT (Tether) is a stablecoin designed to stay close to US$1. Tether issues it on many different blockchains. USDT on TRON and USDT on Ethereum are both "USDT," but they live on separate networks with separate addresses, fees and speeds. A transfer only works if the sender and receiver are on the same network. Think of it like sending a package by LBC to someone who is only waiting at a J&T branch: same package, wrong system.

GCash's help centre ("GCrypto coins and networks") lists USDT on these networks:

• Ethereum (ERC-20), listed as USDT
• Tron (TRC-20), listed as USDTTRX
• Avalanche

• Kaia, listed as USDTKAIA

Each appears as a separate asset in the app. That matters: USDT you bought as "USDT (Tron)" is a TRON-network token, and you send it on TRON.

Cloudbet's help centre ("What currencies are accepted on Cloudbet?") lists USDT on Ethereum Mainnet, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche (C-Chain), Solana, Polygon, Tron and The Open Network. It also states that bridged or wrapped versions, such as USDT.e, are not supported. Comparing the two lists:

Apps label the same network differently, which confuses many first-timers. A quick glossary:

• TRC-20 / Tron / Tron Mainnet / USDTTRX: all refer to USDT on the TRON blockchain.
• ERC-20 / Ethereum / Ethereum Mainnet: USDT on Ethereum.
• Avalanche / Avalanche C-Chain / AVAX C: USDT on Avalanche's contract chain. Avalanche has other chains, so C-Chain is the one to look for.
• TON / The Open Network / USDTTON: USDT on TON.
• BEP-20 / BNB Smart Chain / BSC: USDT on BNB Chain. Cloudbet supports it, but it is not on GCash's USDT list.

When the labels differ, read the full network name and, if in doubt, ask the receiving platform's support before sending.

Address formats give clues, but they are not a complete safety check:

• TRON (TRC-20): addresses usually start with a capital T.
• Ethereum (ERC-20) and Avalanche C-Chain: both use addresses that start with 0x. They look identical.
• TON: a different format again, often starting with letters such as UQ or EQ.

Because Ethereum and Avalanche C-Chain addresses look the same, an app may accept your paste without complaint even if you have chosen the wrong one of the two. The transfer then goes to the right address on the wrong chain. Whether it can ever be recovered depends on the receiving platform, and recovery is never guaranteed. Never rely on the address format to confirm the network; always read the network name on both screens.

1. Open Cloudbet's cashier, choose Deposit and USDT, and look at the list of networks offered.
2. Pick one that GCash also supports, usually Tron (TRC-20).

4. Check the send fee for that asset on the Send screen.

2. In GCrypto, tap the matching USDT asset, then Send.
3. Enter the amount, paste the address, and add a destination tag only if the casino requires one. GCash also lets you scan a QR code to avoid typing errors.
4. Read the network shown on both screens. They must match.
5. Check the first and last characters of the address.
6. Confirm and enter the One-Time PIN that PDAX sends to your email, as GCash's help centre describes.

8. Track the transfer in your GCrypto transaction history.

Limits at security review

GCash's help centre gives a daily send limit of PHP 1,000,000 in peso value every 24 hours for GCrypto sends, and has separate guidance for sends below and above PHP 50,000. Some transactions are held for a security review, in which case GCash says it will email you and process the request within 60 to 120 minutes. Finished GCrypto transactions cannot be changed or refunded.

• The network is on both platforms' supported lists (not Celo or Kaia for Cloudbet).

• Send fee reviewed and acceptable for the amount.
• Small test sent first for a new address.

Bakit madalas TRC-20 ang pinipili

TRC-20 became the default for many Filipino players for practical reasons: TRON confirms transactions in seconds, typical send fees are low compared with Ethereum, it is widely supported by local exchanges and crypto casinos, and the T-address format is easy to recognise. None of that makes it automatically right for every transfer. If the casino's deposit screen does not show Tron, or your exchange's TRC-20 fee is unusually high that day, compare the other matching networks before you send.

Ask the casino's support before sending if the deposit screen shows a network name you do not recognise, if GCash's label and the casino's label do not obviously match, if the deposit screen mentions a memo you do not understand, or if you are sending a large amount for the first time. If you already sent USDT on a network the casino does not support, or on the wrong one of two look-alike networks:

• Stop and do not send more.
• Save the transaction ID, the address, the network and screenshots.

• Be wary of anyone offering to "recover" the funds for a fee.

If you use a different Philippine exchange rather than GCash, you may see networks GCash does not list, such as BNB Smart Chain, Solana or Polygon. Cloudbet supports those for USDT, so they can be valid choices from that exchange. The rule does not change: the network on the sending screen must match the one on Cloudbet's deposit screen exactly.

Hypothetical. Paolo buys "USDT (Tron)" in GCrypto, opens Cloudbet's USDT deposit screen, selects Tron, copies the T-address, and sends a ₱300 test. It arrives within minutes. He sends the rest and starts playing that evening.

Lea, on the other hand, already had some USDT from a promotion, which turned out to be "USDT (Celo)." She pasted a Cloudbet USDT address and was about to send when she noticed the network name did not appear on Cloudbet's list. She stopped, sold the Celo USDT for pesos, bought "USDT (Tron)" instead, and sent that. A spread on the sale and purchase cost her a little, but a wrong-network send could have cost her everything.
