MLBB First Blood Betting: Paano Gumagana, Paano Kalkulahin, at Bakit Delikado ang Small Samples

"First blood!"
This guide covers the MLBB first blood market in detail: what counts, how sportsbooks usually settle it, which factors actually drive the first kill, a practical method for turning team statistics into a probability, why first-blood rates from a few games are mostly noise, and how to use the market sensibly within a series. For MLBB betting in general, see our MLBB betting guide; for the domestic league, our MPL PH betting guide.

Ano ang first blood market?
A first blood bet is a wager on which team gets the first kill of an enemy hero in a specific game (map) of a series. It is a two-way market: Team A or Team B. It is settled within the first few minutes of most games, which makes it fast and popular, especially for live viewers.
First blood bets are usually per map: "Map 1 first blood," "Map 2 first blood," and so on. Some books also offer first blood for the whole match, which normally means the first map's first blood; check the wording.
Paano ito sine-settle
Settlement depends on each sportsbook's esports rules. Things to check:
- What counts as first blood: most books settle on the first hero kill credited to a team, as shown by the game or the official data provider.
- Deaths to turrets, creeps or jungle monsters: some games treat these differently; check whether a hero dying to a non-hero source counts and, if so, which team is credited.
- Remakes: if a game is restarted, first blood bets may be voided or settled on the replayed game, depending on the rules.
- Map not played: if a Bo3 ends 2–0, Map 3 first blood bets are void.
- Official data: settlement usually follows the official result or data feed, not what a stream showed.
Read the rules once and save a copy of them. First blood disputes almost always come from edge cases.
Ano ang nagdedesisyon ng first blood
Roamers at junglers
In MLBB, the roamer and the jungler are usually the players who create early kills: roaming to lanes, setting up ganks, contesting early jungle monsters. Teams with aggressive roamers and early-game junglers have higher first-blood rates.
Draft
Early-game heroes with burst damage, crowd control or strong level-one presence increase the chance of an early kill. Scaling compositions focused on late-game fights tend to play safely early. Since the draft is complete before the game starts, it is the single best piece of information you can have for a first blood bet.
Invades at early rotations
Some teams invade the enemy jungle at the start of the game or contest the first creep waves aggressively. Others set up defensively. A team's habits here, visible over several games, are strong indicators.
Map variant
MLBB's battlefield variants change terrain and paths. Some create more early contact, others fewer. In competitions where maps rotate, note which variant is being played and how teams have performed on it.
Side at objectives
Map side affects jungle access and the timing of early objectives, which can shift where fights happen. Effects are usually small but can matter in combination with team style.
Patch
Patches that strengthen early-game heroes increase early aggression across the league. First-blood rates from previous patches may not apply.
Paano gumawa ng probability: log5 method
A simple way to combine two teams' first-blood rates is the log5 formula, originally used in baseball. If Team A gets first blood in a fraction a of its games against average opponents, and Team B in a fraction b, the chance A gets first blood against B is:
P = a(1 − b) ÷ [a(1 − b) + b(1 − a)]
| Team A rate | Team B rate | A gets first blood |
|---|---|---|
| 60% | 50% | 60.0% |
| 60% | 40% | 69.2% |
| 65% | 45% | 69.4% |
| 55% | 55% | 50.0% |
The method assumes each team's rate was measured against a roughly average set of opponents, which is not always true. It also ignores draft and map information, which can matter more than season-long rates. Use it as a baseline, then adjust.
Ang problema ng maliit na sample
First blood is a yes/no event, so rates from small samples are very noisy. The standard error of a measured rate of about 55% depends on the number of games:
| Games measured | Standard error | Rough 95% range around 55% |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | ±15.7% | about 24% to 86% |
| 20 | ±11.1% | about 33% to 77% |
| 40 | ±7.9% | about 39% to 71% |
| 80 | ±5.6% | about 44% to 66% |
A team that got first blood in 7 of its last 10 games may simply be average and lucky. Even a full MPL PH regular season gives each team only a few dozen games. For that reason:
- Shrink extreme rates toward 50% when samples are small. A 70% rate over 10 games might be treated as perhaps 55% to 58%.
- Prefer the current patch, but recognise that this reduces the sample further.
- Combine statistics with qualitative information: draft, players, known habits.
Break-even rates sa karaniwang odds
| Odds | Break-even probability |
|---|---|
| 1.80 | 55.6% |
| 1.83 | 54.6% |
| 1.87 | 53.5% |
| 1.91 | 52.4% |
First blood markets are often priced around 1.80 to 1.87 per side when the teams are close, a margin of roughly 7% to 11%, higher than on series winner markets. To profit, your estimate must beat the break-even probability by a meaningful amount. If you estimate 57% for a side priced at 1.83, your edge is small and well within the noise of your estimate.
Halimbawa: pre-game first blood
Hypothetical. Team A has gotten first blood in 62% of 26 games this patch; Team B in 46% of 24 games. Shrinking toward 50% to account for sample size, you might use about 58% and 48%. Log5 gives A about 60%. The draft is complete: A picked an aggressive roamer and an early-game jungler; B picked scaling heroes. You adjust up to about 63%. The book offers A first blood at 1.75 (57.1% implied). Your estimate is about six points higher than break-even, a reasonable edge for a small stake. If the book had A at 1.55 (64.5%), there would be no bet.
First blood sa loob ng series
In a Bo3 or Bo5, each map has its own first blood market. Between maps, teams change drafts, and losers often adjust their early game. Some practical points:
- Wait for the draft of each map before betting, if the book keeps the market open until the game starts.
- A team that lost Map 1 may play more aggressively early in Map 2.
- Do not assume the Map 1 result repeats; each map is a new event.
- Later maps may not be played, voiding those bets.

First blood at map winner: ano ang koneksyon?
Getting first blood gives a small gold and tempo advantage, and teams that play strong early games are more likely to get it. So first blood and winning the map are positively related, but far from the same thing. Many MLBB games are won by the team that gave up first blood, especially when it drafted for the late game. Do not treat a first-blood bet as a cheaper way to bet on the map winner, and do not stake both as if they were independent: if you back the same team for first blood and the map, you are concentrating risk on one view.
Live use: pagkatapos ng draft
For first blood, "live" betting really means betting after the draft but before the first kill. Some books close the market at game start; others keep it open briefly. Watch for:
- Early-game compositions on one side and scaling on the other.
- Level-one invade setups visible in the first seconds.
- Stream delay: by the time you see a fight on stream, the book may already know the result. Never try to bet on a fight that is already happening; bets may be voided, and it is a breach of most terms.
Mga variant ng market
- First to X kills: first team to reach 5 or 10 kills; similar logic, slightly less random.
- First turtle, first tower, first lord: early objective markets influenced by jungler strength and lane control.
- Time of first blood over/under: whether the first kill happens before a set time; driven by aggression levels on both sides.
These markets usually carry similar or higher margins and require the same caution with small samples.
Staking at variance
First blood is close to a coin flip with a high margin, so results swing heavily. A bettor with a genuine 55% edge at 1.87 will still have long losing runs. Use small flat stakes, around 0.5% to 1% of your esports bankroll per bet, and limit the number of first-blood bets per series. Track every bet with the draft notes you used. After a few dozen bets, check whether your estimates beat the closing prices and the break-even rate; if not, stop betting the market.
Paano mag-record ng first blood bets
Because the market is so noisy, records are the only way to know whether you have an edge. For each bet, note the match, map number, map variant, both drafts in short form (for example "A: early roam + early jungler; B: scaling"), your estimate, the price and the result. After 50 or more bets, group them by situation. You may find, for example, that your bets on early-game drafts against scaling drafts do well while your stat-based bets do not. That tells you which part of your process to keep and which to drop. Without records, first blood betting tends to feel more successful than it is, because quick wins are memorable and slow losses are not.
Mga common na pagkakamali
- Trusting first-blood rates from 10 or 15 games.
- Ignoring the draft, the most important information for this market.
- Betting first blood on every map of every series because it is fast.
- Assuming first blood predicts the map winner.
- Trying to beat the stream delay.
- Not reading settlement rules for turret, creep or monster deaths and remakes.
- Raising stakes after a few losses to "win it back" quickly.
Saan tumaya
First blood markets are offered on many MLBB matches at sportsbooks with esports sections, more often for major leagues and international events. Cloudbet, our affiliate partner, has an esports section with MLBB markets; check which in-game markets are available for each match. Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao and is not licensed by PAGCOR, so Philippine regulators cannot help with disputes involving it.
Legal at responsible na paalala
You must be at least 21 to gamble in the Philippines; many MLBB fans are younger and must not bet. Government officials and employees are barred from gambling. Fast markets like first blood can lead to many bets in a short time. Set a limit on the number of bets per day as well as a money limit. If betting stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free Philippine helplines.
Bottom line
MLBB first blood is a fast, high-margin, high-variance market. The draft and team habits are your best information; season-long first-blood rates are noisy and should be shrunk toward 50% when samples are small. Use log5 as a baseline, compare with break-even probabilities, bet small, and do not confuse first blood with winning the map. Most first-blood bets are close to coin flips, and the disciplined approach is to bet only the few where your edge is clear and to skip the rest without regret, however exciting the next game looks on stream.
