TI 2026 sa isang tingin
- Venue: Shanghai, China, the 15th edition of The International, with the finals at the Oriental Sports Center.
- Champion: Team Spirit, beating TEAM VISION 3-2 in the Grand Final on 23 August 2026. Spirit became the first organisation to win TI three times, and Yatoro and Collapse the first players with three Aegis titles.
- Champion's share: about US$1.42 million, 42.5 percent of the prize pool.
- Third and fourth: Team Yandex and BoomBoys.
- OG: the all-Filipino lineup of Natsumi, Yopaj, Raven, TIMS and Skem qualified through Southeast Asia by beating Grind Back 3-1, the first all-Filipino roster at TI in four years. It finished 14th–15th with a 1-4 series record.
One detail stands out for bettors: Spirit had reportedly lost to VISION twice during the event before beating them in the final. Previous results within a tournament are useful, but they don't settle a Bo5.
Ang naging takbo ng OG
OG lost its first three series 0-2, against BoomBoys, Nigma Galaxy and Team Resilience, then beat HULIGANI 2-1 before GamerLegion eliminated them 0-2 on 15 August. The map record was 2-9. In September, OG released Yopaj, Raven and TIMS, keeping Natsumi and Skem. For Filipino fans it was disappointing; for bettors, it's a reminder that qualifying from SEA and competing with the world's best are very different tasks, and that the price on a fan-favourite team should reflect that gap.
Paano gumagana ang format at bakit mahalaga
TI 2026 used a Swiss-system stage before the playoffs. In a Swiss system, teams with the same record play each other each round; reaching a set number of wins advances you, and reaching a set number of losses eliminates you. Matches are typically Bo3, with the Grand Final a Bo5. Formats change between editions, so always check Valve's official rules.
For betting, the Swiss stage means:
- Opponents aren't known far ahead. Pairings depend on results, so series prices appear late.
- Decider matches matter more. A team on the edge of elimination may play very differently from one that has already qualified.
- Bo3 variance is high. A team winning 60 percent of games wins a Bo3 only about 65 percent of the time.
Bo3 at Bo5 math
| Per-game win chance | Bo3 series | Bo5 series |
|---|---|---|
| 50% | 50.0% | 50.0% |
| 55% | 57.5% | 59.3% |
| 60% | 64.8% | 68.3% |
| 65% | 71.8% | 76.5% |
| 70% | 78.4% | 83.7% |
In Dota, a single game can last 30 to over 60 minutes; the TI 2026 decider reportedly ended around the 64th minute. Long games create comeback chances, which partly explains why upsets are common.
TI outright odds
Outright markets open long before TI, often before the field is set. Total margins are large, sometimes well above 20 percent across all teams. To read them:
- Convert each price to an implied chance and add them up.
- Divide each team's implied chance by the total to estimate fair chances.
- Compare with your own estimate. A favourite with a 15 percent fair chance still loses the title 85 percent of the time.
TI history is full of surprise champions and favourites falling short, and Spirit's titles have come from varied starting points. Don't treat a short outright price as a near-certainty.
Mga market sa TI series
- Series winner: the main market.
- Map handicap: e.g. −1.5 maps for a 2-0 win in a Bo3.
- Correct score: 2-0, 2-1, 1-2, 0-2.
- Map winner and map props: first blood, first Roshan, total kills, game duration, and more.
Duration and kill totals depend heavily on the patch and team styles. These props usually have higher margins and lower limits.
Paano suriin ang isang TI matchup
- Recent tournament results, especially against TI-calibre teams.
- Patch and meta. TI often lands on a patch teams have had time to learn; check which teams thrive in it.
- Draft tendencies. Some teams have comfort heroes that opponents must ban.
- Roster stability and stand-ins.
- Pressure. Some teams perform better on the TI stage than in online events, others worse.
Swiss stage: gaano kalaki ang tsansang makapasok?
Here's a simple way to think about a Swiss stage. Suppose a team needs three series wins before three losses to advance, and it wins each series with the same chance. At 50 percent it advances half the time. At 60 percent it advances about 68 percent of the time, at 65 percent about 77 percent, and at 70 percent about 84 percent. In a format that requires four wins before four losses, the stronger team's chances rise a little: 71, 80 and 87 percent respectively. Real Swiss stages pair teams with similar records, so a team that starts well faces stronger opponents later, which pulls those numbers down. The point stands: even good teams have a real chance of going out early, and "to qualify for playoffs" prices on favourites should rarely be extremely short.
Dota props: Roshan, kills at duration
Dota offers a rich set of map props:
- First blood: settles on the first hero kill. Aggressive early drafts matter.
- First Roshan: which team kills Roshan first. Teams with strong mid-game timings tend to take it.
- Total kills: high for brawling drafts and some patches, low for farm-heavy games.
- Duration over/under: depends on how fast teams close games. Comeback mechanics can stretch games well past the line.
- First to 10 kills, first tower, and similar: often available; margins are usually higher.
The draft is announced only once the game starts, so pre-match props are priced without it, while live props after the draft can reflect it. If you understand drafts well, the window right after picks lock can be where your knowledge counts most, though lines adjust quickly.
Dota odds vs MLBB odds
Many Filipino bettors come to Dota from MLBB. Key differences:
- Game length: Dota games run longer and comebacks are more common, so map favourites win a little less reliably.
- Series length: Dota's biggest events mostly use Bo3 until late playoffs, while MLBB international playoffs use Bo5 and Bo7 more often. Shorter series mean more upsets.
- Global field: Dota's top tier is spread across Europe, the CIS region, China, the Americas and SEA, whereas MLBB is SEA-centred, so PH teams carry less of a reputation premium in Dota.
- Patch cycles: big Dota patches can reshape the game; teams adapting fastest gain an edge.
Staking para sa buong TI
TI runs for weeks, with dozens of series. A simple plan: decide your total budget before qualifiers end, keep around 10 percent for outrights, spread the bulk across Swiss-stage and playoff series you've researched, and set aside a fixed amount for the Grand Final. If you lose your Swiss-stage share early, don't dip into the playoff share. Keep a short log of each bet: price, stake, reasoning and closing price. After the event, review it honestly. If you regularly beat the closing price, your read on Dota has some substance; if not, keep stakes small next year and treat TI mainly as entertainment.

Hedging ng TI outright
If a long-price outright bet reaches the playoffs or the final, you can hedge by betting its opponents. Calculate the profit in both outcomes before deciding, and remember each hedge pays the margin again. Partial hedges are a reasonable middle ground when the potential payout is large compared with your usual stakes.
Worked example: pagbasa ng isang Bo3 price
Suppose a Swiss-stage Bo3 is priced at 1.60 for Team A and 2.30 for Team B. Implied chances are 62.5 and 43.5 percent, total 106 percent, so fair chances are about 59 and 41 percent. A 59 percent Bo3 chance corresponds to roughly a 56 percent per-game chance for Team A. If your research says Team A wins about 60 percent of games against this opponent, its Bo3 chance would be about 65 percent and the fair price about 1.54, so 1.60 offers a small edge. If you think the teams are even per game, Team B at 2.30, against a fair 2.00, looks more interesting. Then check the correct-score market: at 56 percent per game, Team A winning 2-0 is about 31 percent and 2-1 about 28 percent.
Line movement at stand-ins
Dota lines often move on roster news: a stand-in because of visa problems or illness, a player change just before the event, or reports from bootcamp. A stand-in can cost a team a lot of coordination, especially in support roles that rely on communication. Books react quickly once news is public. Follow team and player social accounts and reliable esports news sites in the days before matches.
Settlement: pauses, disconnects at remakes
Dota matches can be paused for technical issues, and in rare cases games are remade. Most books settle on the official result; map props may be voided if a game is remade, depending on the rules. Forfeits can void series bets or settle them on the official result. Read your sportsbook's esports rules before TI starts.
Kailan may value sa mga Pinoy player at team
Filipino Dota players are scattered across many rosters, and fans often follow players rather than teams. If a team has a Filipino star, local betting interest may shorten its price slightly on regional books. More often, PH-based or SEA teams at TI are underdogs. That doesn't make them value by default: the 2026 OG run shows the gap. Ask whether the price is long enough to reflect the realistic chance, not whether you want them to win.
Ang Battle Pass era at prize pool: may epekto ba sa odds?
TI prize pools used to be crowdfunded through in-game purchases and reached tens of millions of dollars. Recent pools are much smaller; the 2026 champion's share was about US$1.42 million. Smaller prize money hasn't changed how hard teams compete at TI, which remains the event every Dota player wants to win, so motivation is not a useful betting angle. What has changed is the wider calendar: many big third-party tournaments now run throughout the year, which gives bettors far more recent data on top teams before TI than in earlier eras. Use it: results from the major events in the months before TI are among the best guides to form.
Time zones at iskedyul
TI 2026 in Shanghai was in the same time zone as Manila, which made watching easy. Future editions may be in Europe or North America, which means late-night or early-morning matches. Plan pre-match bets before you sleep, and avoid late-night live betting when you're tired.
Ano ang aabangan bago ang TI 2027
