GE had already lost to Nongshim 1-2 in the upper bracket before beating them in the final, a reminder that a previous result between two teams in the same event doesn't settle the rematch.

Comebacks like GE's are memorable precisely because they're unlikely; betting on them repeatedly at fair prices loses slowly, and at worse-than-fair prices loses faster.

Four Pacific teams reached VALORANT Champions in Shanghai (24 September to 18 October 2026): GE and Nongshim as Stage 2 finalists, and Paper Rex and T1 on Championship Points. Results as of mid-October:

• Paper Rex and Nongshim finished 7th–8th.
• Global Esports went out in the group stage.

Championship Points matter for Champions qualification. Late in the season, some teams need wins badly, while others have already secured their place or been eliminated from contention. In 2026, Paper Rex and T1 reached Champions through points despite not making the Stage 2 final. Teams chasing points have strong reasons to fight in every series; teams with nothing at stake may experiment. Check the standings before late-season matches, but remember professionals rarely play at half effort.

With two groups and four of six teams advancing from each, most teams reach the playoffs. That makes "to qualify for playoffs" prices short for strong teams and the more interesting markets those on seeding, since higher group finishes give better bracket positions.
