This guide explains what KYC involves for Filipino players, which documents usually work, how verification differs between PAGCOR-licensed and offshore crypto casinos, and how to get verified quickly without risking your data. For Cloudbet specifically, see also our Cloudbet Philippines review.

Ano ang KYC?
KYC stands for "know your customer." It is the process of verifying a customer's identity, age and sometimes address and source of funds. Financial institutions, e-wallets and gambling operators use it to meet anti-money-laundering (AML) rules, prevent fraud and underage gambling, and make sure winnings are paid to the right person.
In the Philippines, casinos, including online casinos, have been covered by the Anti-Money Laundering Act since a 2017 amendment (Republic Act No. 10927), which requires them to identify customers and report certain transactions. PAGCOR-licensed operators must verify that players are at least 21. Offshore operators follow the rules of their own licensing jurisdictions and their internal policies.
Kailan karaniwang hinihingi ang KYC
- At registration: common at PAGCOR-licensed sites, which must check age before play.
- Before the first withdrawal: common at many offshore sites.
- At deposit or withdrawal thresholds: some sites allow limited activity unverified, then require verification above a set amount.
- When something looks unusual: large wins, changes in payment method, logins from new countries or bonus-abuse checks can trigger extra checks.
Mga documents na karaniwang tinatanggap
| Purpose | Common Philippine documents |
|---|---|
| Identity (government ID with photo) | Philippine passport, PhilSys National ID (or ePhilID), driver's licence, UMID, PRC ID, postal ID; acceptance varies by operator |
| Proof of address | Recent utility bill (Meralco, water, internet), bank statement, or government-issued document showing your address, usually dated within the last three months |
| Selfie or liveness check | A live photo or short video, sometimes holding your ID |
| Payment ownership | Screenshot of your e-wallet or bank account showing your name; for crypto, sometimes proof that you control the sending wallet |
| Source of funds (for large amounts) | Payslips, bank statements, business documents |
Each operator publishes its own list. Check it before you upload, and use the original document, not a photocopy, unless the site says otherwise.
PAGCOR-licensed vs offshore crypto casinos
| PAGCOR-licensed | Offshore crypto casino | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Usually before play (age check) | Often at thresholds or before withdrawals |
| Rules | Philippine regulations, AML law | Licensing jurisdiction and own policy |
| Typical documents | Philippine ID, selfie | ID, proof of address, selfie; sometimes source of funds |
| Complaints | Operator, then PAGCOR | Operator, then foreign regulator |
Some crypto casinos advertise "no KYC." In practice, most reserve the right to verify at any time, especially before large withdrawals. Plan as if verification will be required.
Cloudbet verification levels
Cloudbet, our affiliate partner, uses verification levels. Based on its help centre and terms as of October 2026:
- Unverified / Level 1: accounts can deposit and play with limits, described as about US$2,200 in lifetime deposits and US$2,200 in daily withdrawals.
- Level 2: verification with an identity document, proof of address and a face check removes those limits.
- Its terms say KYC applies once cumulative deposits reach the threshold, and Cloudbet can request verification at any time.
- Its deposit playthrough rule differs by status: 100% for unverified accounts and 25% for verified accounts, counting settled bets only.
Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao and is not licensed by PAGCOR. Check its current help pages for the latest limits.
Paano pumasa sa KYC sa unang subok
- Use your real legal name at registration, exactly as on your ID, including middle name if your ID shows it.
- Check the expiry date: expired IDs are routinely rejected.
- Photograph all four corners of the ID in good, even light, without glare, fingers covering text or cropping.
- Use a recent proof of address in your name, matching the address on your account.
- For selfies, face the camera directly, remove sunglasses or caps, and use plain lighting.
- Make sure your payment method is in your name. Deposits from someone else's GCash or bank account cause problems.
- Upload only through the site's verification page, while logged in.
- Verify early, before you need a withdrawal, so a delay does not trap your winnings.
Mga dahilan ng rejection o delay
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Blurry, cropped or glare-covered photo | Retake in good light, all corners visible |
| Name mismatch between account and ID | Ask support to correct the account name, with proof |
| Proof of address too old or not in your name | Use a document from the last three months in your name |
| Address on bill differs from account | Update your account address or use a matching document |
| Expired or unsupported ID | Use another accepted ID |
| Payment method in another person's name | Use your own; explain to support if a family member's account was used |
| Multiple accounts | Most sites allow one account per person; duplicate accounts may be closed |
Many Filipinos live in households where utility bills are in a parent's or landlord's name. If that is your case, a bank statement or another document in your name may work better; ask support which alternatives they accept.
Gaano katagal ang verification?
Automated checks can take minutes. Manual reviews can take from hours to a few days, longer at busy times or when documents need re-uploading. Large withdrawals or source-of-funds requests take longer. Verifying soon after registration, when you have no money waiting, avoids stress later. If a review takes longer than the site says, a short, polite message to support with your account ID usually gets a status update.
Privacy at data safety
- Upload documents only on the operator's own site, after checking the domain and its licence.
- Never send ID photos through chat apps, social media or email to personal addresses.
- Read the privacy policy: how long the operator keeps documents and who processes them.
- If the site allows it, add a watermark to your ID photo with the site's name and date.
- Use two-factor authentication on your account so verified data is not easily accessed.
- The Philippines' Data Privacy Act (RA 10173) applies to organisations processing Filipinos' personal data; you can contact the National Privacy Commission if you believe your data was misused.

KYC scams
Scammers exploit verification to steal identities and money:
- Fake "verification agents" on Telegram or Facebook who ask for your ID, selfie and one-time codes.
- "Verification fee" requests: legitimate casinos do not charge to verify you.
- Clone sites that collect documents and never pay.
- "Rent your account" offers asking you to verify an account for someone else, often used for laundering; this can expose you to legal problems.
Report suspected fraud to the CICC (hotline 1326) or the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.
KYC sa crypto casinos: mga dagdag na detalye
Crypto adds its own verification points. Casinos may ask you to show that you control the wallet you deposit from, for example with a screenshot of the sending account at your exchange or e-wallet showing your name and the transaction. Philippine crypto services such as GCash's GCrypto and Maya are themselves regulated and verify their users; Maya, for example, asks for recipient details on crypto sends of ₱50,000 or more under travel-rule requirements. When the name on your exchange account, your casino account and your ID all match, verification is usually smooth. Problems start when deposits come from a friend's exchange account or from a wallet you cannot show is yours. Keep transaction IDs and screenshots of every deposit and withdrawal; they are the crypto equivalent of a bank statement.
E-wallet KYC vs casino KYC
Being fully verified on GCash or Maya does not verify you at a casino; each organisation does its own checks. However, having a verified e-wallet in your own name helps, because it gives you a clean payment record and an account statement you can use as supporting evidence. Since August 2025, e-wallets no longer link to gambling sites in their apps, but your e-wallet's verification and transaction history still matter when you fund a casino through crypto or an operator's own payment channels.
Ano ang nangyayari sa data mo pagkatapos
Operators usually must keep verification records for a period after you close your account, because anti-money-laundering rules require record-keeping. Closing your account does not normally delete your documents immediately. Read the privacy policy for retention periods and how to request access or deletion where the law allows. This is another reason to choose operators carefully before uploading anything: once your ID is on a site's servers, its security practices matter for years.
Halimbawa: isang verification na mabilis natapos
Hypothetical. Jomar registers at a crypto casino using his full name exactly as on his driver's licence. The same evening, before depositing much, he uploads clear photos of the licence's front and back taken on a dark table in daylight, a Meralco bill from last month in his own name at the address he entered, and completes the selfie check. He funds the account from his own GCrypto wallet and saves the transaction ID. The review finishes the next morning. Weeks later, when he requests his first withdrawal, there is no delay. Compare that with his friend, who registered under a nickname, deposited from his sister's account and tried to verify only after a big win: his withdrawal waited a week while support asked for corrections.
Mga KYC terms na makikita mo
- POA: proof of address.
- Liveness check: a live selfie or video to confirm you are a real person matching the ID.
- EDD: enhanced due diligence, extra checks for larger or unusual activity.
- SOF / SOW: source of funds / source of wealth documents.
- PEP: politically exposed person, subject to stricter checks.
- Re-verification: a repeat check, often after a long gap, a new payment method or an expired ID on file.
Paano kung na-reject ka nang paulit-ulit
Ask support for the exact reason in writing, fix that specific issue and resubmit. Keep your messages factual. If a site keeps rejecting valid documents while holding a balance, escalate through its formal complaints process, then to its regulator: PAGCOR for licensed Philippine operators, or the foreign regulator for offshore sites. Do not open a second account to get around verification. Duplicate accounts are almost always detected, and they usually lead to both accounts being closed, sometimes with winnings voided under the terms.
Mga madalas na tanong ng Pinoy players
Puwede ba ang ePhilID?
Many operators accept the PhilSys National ID; acceptance of the printed ePhilID varies. Check the operator's list.
Puwede bang gamitin ang account ng kapatid ko?
No. Accounts must be in the player's own name, and payment methods should be too. Using someone else's account breaks terms and can lead to closure and confiscated winnings.
Bakit hinihingan ako ng source of funds?
Large deposits or withdrawals can trigger AML checks. Provide accurate documents; if you are uncomfortable, you can stop depositing and withdraw what you are allowed to.
Checklist
- I am 21 or older.
- My account name matches my ID exactly.
- My ID is valid and photographed clearly.
- My proof of address is recent and in my name.
- My payment methods are in my name.
- I am uploading on the verified site only.
- I verified early, before requesting a withdrawal.
Bottom line
KYC protects you as much as the casino: it confirms the account is yours, keeps minors out and makes sure withdrawals go to the right person. Use your real details from the start, prepare clear, current documents in your name, verify before you need to withdraw, and share documents only through the operator's own verified site. Expect it at both PAGCOR-licensed and offshore casinos, including Cloudbet, which applies limits to unverified accounts.
