This is our long-form guide to betting on ONE from the Philippines. It covers the event calendar and what time fights start in Manila, the rules that change how bouts should be priced, how each ruleset's markets work, the maths of judging a price, and how to approach a full card. We don't publish live odds or picks. If you want a shorter page focused on Filipino fighters' lines, read our ONE Championship odds for Filipino fighters; for general MMA markets, see our MMA betting guide.

Ano ang ONE Championship, sa madaling salita
ONE Championship is a Singapore-based martial arts organisation founded in 2011 by Chatri Sityodtong. It grew from a single event in Singapore into a promotion staging shows across Asia and beyond, with broadcast deals that put its biggest cards in front of global audiences. Unlike most MMA promotions, ONE puts several combat sports on the same card: mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, kickboxing and submission grappling. Each has its own world champions and rankings.
For bettors, that variety is both the appeal and the trap. A Filipino fan might know a fighter from his MMA bouts and assume the same skills transfer to a kickboxing match, or bet a grappling match as though it had the same outcomes as an MMA fight. Each ruleset needs its own thinking, and this guide takes them one at a time.
Mga uri ng ONE event
| Event type | What it is | Betting notes |
|---|---|---|
| Numbered ONE events | The promotion's flagship cards with multiple world title fights | Most markets, deepest liquidity, most media coverage. |
| ONE Fight Night | Cards built for a global streaming audience, scheduled for US primetime | Main events in Asia's morning; good market depth for main card bouts. |
| ONE Friday Fights | Weekly cards at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, mostly Muay Thai and kickboxing | Many fighters with little international footage; thinner markets, sometimes none for early bouts. |
| ONE Samurai and regional series | Cards built around a specific country, such as Japan | Home-country fighters attract local money; check market availability. |
Event names and series change over time, so always confirm the card on ONE's official site or app before betting.
Oras ng ONE events sa Pilipinas
Most ONE events are held in Asian time zones close to ours, which makes them easier to follow than Las Vegas cards. Here's what to expect:
- Bangkok (Lumpinee) events: Thailand is one hour behind Manila. A Friday Fights card starting in the Bangkok evening starts in our evening too, one hour later on the clock.
- Singapore and Kuala Lumpur: same time as Manila.
- Tokyo: one hour ahead. A Tokyo card in the evening is evening here as well, an hour earlier.
- ONE Fight Night cards for US primetime: often held at Lumpinee in the Bangkok morning, so they start around Saturday morning in Manila.
Main events can start later than advertised if earlier bouts end by decision. Pre-fight markets normally stay open until a bout begins, so a late-running card gives you more time to read news, but also more time to talk yourself into extra bets.
Joshua Pacio at ang mga Pinoy sa ONE ngayon
Joshua Pacio of Team Lakay is the reigning ONE strawweight MMA world champion. He retained the belt in a rematch with Mansur Malachiev in July 2026, and ONE has announced his next defence against Japan's Keito Yamakita at ONE Samurai 5 in Tokyo on 18 November 2026. That's a title fight in his opponent's home country, scheduled for five rounds, which affects how you should think about it. We look at that below.
Team Lakay, the Baguio-based gym, remains the best-known Filipino camp in ONE, with fighters such as Jhanlo Mark Sangiao, who faced Marcos Aurelio at ONE Fight Night 46 in August 2026. Over the years the gym has produced several ONE world champions. Other Filipino fighters appear on ONE cards in MMA and striking bouts too. Rosters and bookings change often, so treat any list as a snapshot and check the official site for the current card.
ONE weight classes at hydration testing
ONE uses its own MMA weight limits, which are set higher than the familiar limits of other promotions, because of how it handles weight cutting. The upper limits for its MMA divisions are:
| Division | Upper limit |
|---|---|
| Atomweight (women) | 52.2 kg / 115 lb |
| Strawweight | 56.7 kg / 125 lb |
| Flyweight | 61.2 kg / 135 lb |
| Bantamweight | 65.8 kg / 145 lb |
| Featherweight | 70.3 kg / 155 lb |
| Lightweight | 77.1 kg / 170 lb |
| Welterweight | 83.9 kg / 185 lb |
| Middleweight | 93.0 kg / 205 lb |
| Light heavyweight | 102.1 kg / 225 lb |
| Heavyweight | 120.2 kg / 265 lb |
The reason for these numbers is ONE's hydration rule. Fighters must pass a urine specific gravity test, at or below 1.0250, as well as make weight, in checks during fight week. In practice, this discourages the large dehydration cuts that are common elsewhere. A ONE strawweight at 125 pounds is roughly comparable in walking size to a flyweight in a promotion with a 125-pound flyweight limit and big cuts.
Bakit mahalaga ito sa taya
- Cross-promotion comparisons are tricky. A fighter who looked big at flyweight elsewhere may be ordinary-sized in ONE's division of the same name.
- Weight-check failures change bouts. If a fighter fails hydration or weight, a bout may become a catchweight, lose its title status, or be cancelled. Books handle this differently.
- Late replacements are common in any promotion, and a replacement may come in at a different weight. Many books void bets if an opponent changes.
Paano nagdedesisyon ang mga judge sa ONE
ONE doesn't score fights round by round. Its judges decide a winner by assessing the bout in its entirety, using an order of criteria that puts damage and near-finishes first, then aggression and control, with other factors only as tie-breakers. A practical consequence: a fighter who nearly finishes his opponent once can win a decision even if the other fighter was busier in other stretches. Under round-by-round scoring, the busier fighter might have taken two rounds of three.
For bettors, this matters most on fights you expect to be close. Ask which fighter is more likely to produce the single most memorable moment of damage, not just who will "win more rounds." It's also why our usual round-by-round scorecard habit, useful for boxing, translates poorly to ONE: keep notes on significant damage and near-finishes instead.
Muay Thai: stadium habits vs ONE criteria
Traditional stadium Muay Thai in Thailand has its own scoring culture: judges value clean, effective technique and balance, and the later rounds often matter most. A fighter who is clearly ahead may ease off in the final round, a habit sometimes described as "dancing" the round out. ONE's damage-first criteria and small gloves reward a different approach, with more incentive to push for finishes. When a stadium veteran debuts in ONE, watch whether he adapts. Some thrive; others look tentative under the new format. This adaptation question is one of the more interesting angles for bettors, because markets may lean heavily on reputation built under different rules.
Kickboxing records mula sa ibang promotions
Many ONE kickboxers have fought in other major kickboxing organisations. Rules there can differ on round length, number of rounds, clinch allowances and knees. A fighter who won many decisions under a points-heavy system may find ONE's emphasis on damage changes the outcome of close fights. Use past footage to understand how a fighter wins: through volume, power, counters or pressure, and ask whether that translates.
Grappling formats: ano ang dapat suriin
Submission grappling comes in several formats across the sport: submission-only with overtime, points-based systems with advantages and penalties, and hybrid rules. ONE has used its own approach, which has changed over time. Before betting, find answers to three questions: how is the match won if there's no submission, can it end in a draw, and how does your sportsbook settle each possible outcome? If the answers aren't clear, skip the match. A grappler's record in points-based tournaments may say little about a submission-focused format.
Paano sine-set ng sportsbook ang ONE lines
Bookmakers set opening lines using their own models, comparisons with other books, and traders' judgement, then adjust as bets come in. For major ONE bouts, opening lines appear days or weeks ahead. For lower-profile bouts, they may appear only a day or two before, with lower stake limits. Low limits are a signal that the book is less confident in its price. That doesn't make the line wrong, but it does mean early prices may move more as information arrives.
Line shopping: ikumpara ang presyo
If you have accounts at more than one sportsbook that accepts Philippine players, comparing prices on the same bout can add meaningful value over time. A difference between 2.10 and 2.25 on the same fighter is about 7 percent more profit when you win. Over many bets, consistently taking the best available price matters more than most bettors realise. Only use books you've checked for reliability; a slightly better price isn't worth an unreliable operator.
30-day plan para sa baguhan sa ONE betting
- Week 1: Don't bet. Watch one full ONE card, noting the ruleset of each bout and how the judges decided any decisions.
- Week 2: Pick one upcoming card. For three bouts, write your own win probability for each fighter before checking prices. Compare afterwards.
- Week 3: Place small flat bets only where your estimate clearly beats the market's fair chance. Log everything.
- Week 4: Review your log. Were your estimates close to the market's? Did you beat the closing price? Decide whether to continue, adjust or stop.
This approach builds judgement before money is at risk. Many bettors skip straight to step 3 and never learn whether their reads are any good.
MMA bouts sa ONE: mga market
| Market | What it means | What to think about in ONE |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline | Who wins | Draws are rare in MMA; most books void two-way bets on a draw. |
| Method of victory | KO/TKO, submission, or decision | Hydration rules mean fighters are often less depleted, which some argue affects durability; judge per fighter. |
| Total rounds | Over/under a set point, e.g. 1.5 or 2.5 rounds | Three-round vs five-round bouts change everything; check the schedule. |
| Goes the distance | Whether it reaches the judges | A simpler alternative to method betting. |
| Round betting | Exact round of a finish | Long prices, high margins; small stakes only. |
Standard ONE MMA bouts are three rounds of five minutes; world title fights are five rounds. That difference has a big effect on total-rounds lines and on how much cardio and late-fight durability matter.
Muay Thai sa ONE: iba ang tinitingnan
ONE's Muay Thai bouts allow punches, kicks, knees and elbows, plus clinch work. On the biggest cards, ONE uses small MMA-style gloves for many Muay Thai fights, which tends to make knockouts more likely than in traditional stadium Muay Thai with heavier gloves. Bouts are typically three rounds of three minutes, with title fights longer.
Betting implications
- Clinch and elbows reward fighters who are comfortable at close range. A long-range kickboxer may struggle.
- Small gloves raise the chance of a finish. Method markets for KO may be shorter than you'd expect from traditional Muay Thai records.
- Thai stadium records can be enormous, sometimes hundreds of fights. A big record doesn't automatically mean a fighter is suited to ONE's format; how they've done under ONE rules is more relevant.
- Draws are possible in striking sports. Check whether your market is two-way (draw voids) or three-way (draw is a separate outcome).
Home-country events: ONE Samurai at iba pa
When ONE stages cards built around one country, such as its Japan series, the local fighters draw heavy home support and local betting interest. Two things follow. First, home fighters may get a lift from the crowd and from avoiding travel. Second, prices on home fighters may be shaded by enthusiastic local money, the same effect Filipino fighters experience at home. For Pacio's November title defence in Tokyo, both effects point toward his Japanese opponent. A neutral bettor should ask whether the market has over- or under-adjusted, not simply assume the home fighter is favoured for good reason.
Draw no bet at double chance sa striking bouts
Because draws are possible in Muay Thai and kickboxing, some books offer "draw no bet" (your stake is refunded if it's a draw) or "double chance" (you win if your fighter wins or it's a draw). These are useful if you're worried about a draw but want to back a fighter. Compare their prices with the three-way market: draw no bet should pay a little less than a straight win bet, and double chance should pay noticeably less. If the difference seems too large, the book is charging extra margin for the protection, and the plain win market may be better.
Kickboxing sa ONE
Kickboxing in ONE allows punches, kicks and knees, but not elbows, and clinching is limited. Fighters who rely on volume and footwork tend to do well. Rounds are typically three minutes. Compared with Muay Thai, there's less scope for close-range damage and more emphasis on output and range control.
- Watch how a fighter handles pressure, because forward-moving opponents often influence judges in striking bouts.
- Knockdowns are hugely important under ONE's damage-first judging criteria.
- Many kickboxers have long records in other organisations. Rules differ between promotions (rounds, clinch, knees), so read records carefully.
Submission grappling: isang espesyal na kaso
ONE also stages submission grappling matches, where the only way to win before time is a submission. Rules have varied over time, and how a match without a submission is resolved can differ from event to event, so it's essential to read both the event's grappling rules and the sportsbook's market rules before betting. In some formats, draws are possible; in others, a decision or overtime decides it. If you don't know exactly how a match without a submission is settled, don't bet it.
Grappling matches often have thin markets, sometimes only a moneyline. Expert grapplers may have extensive records in other competitions, but differences in rules (points, advantages, time limits) make those records hard to translate.
Kasaysayan ng Pinoy sa ONE: bakit malaki ang interes dito
Filipino interest in ONE didn't happen by accident. From its early years, ONE booked Filipino fighters regularly and staged events in Manila, including shows at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Team Lakay fighters from Baguio became the face of Philippine MMA in the promotion, and several won ONE world titles, among them Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Geje Eustaquio and Joshua Pacio. Their wushu and sanda-based striking, conditioning from training at altitude, and the gym's tight-knit team identity made them fan favourites well beyond the Cordilleras.
That history shapes the betting market. Many Filipino bettors grew up watching Team Lakay and still support its fighters strongly, and local media coverage of every Filipino bout keeps interest high. For a bettor, the lesson is the same one we repeat across combat sports: loyalty is a reason to watch, not a reason to stake more.
Fight week timeline sa oras ng Manila
A ONE fight week follows a fairly standard pattern. For an event in Bangkok or Singapore, here's roughly what happens and why it matters to bettors:
| When | What happens | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Several days before | Fighters arrive; media interviews and open workouts | Signs of injury or illness occasionally appear; interviews rarely change prices. |
| Two to three days before | Weight and hydration checks begin | Failures can lead to catchweights, lost title eligibility or cancelled bouts. |
| Day before | Final official checks and confirmation of the card | The most important day for news. Re-check every bout you plan to bet. |
| Event day | Card begins with lead card bouts, then main card | Late withdrawals happen; markets usually stay open until each bout starts. |
Exact schedules vary by event. Because most ONE shows are in time zones near ours, this news usually lands during waking hours in Manila, unlike US events.
Odds formats: decimal, American, Hong Kong, Malay at Indo
Sportsbooks serving Asian players often let you choose among several odds formats. They all describe the same price; only the presentation differs. Knowing how to switch between them helps you compare books and avoid mistakes.
| Format | Favourite example | Underdog example | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.50 | 2.80 | Total return per 1 staked, including stake. |
| American | −200 | +180 | Negative: stake needed to win 100. Positive: profit from 100 staked. |
| Hong Kong | 0.50 | 1.80 | Profit per 1 staked (decimal minus 1). |
| Malay | 0.50 | −0.56 | Positive: profit per 1 staked. Negative: stake needed to win 1. |
| Indo | −2.00 | 1.80 | Like American divided by 100. |
Conversions from decimal (D):
- Hong Kong = D − 1.
- American: if D ≥ 2, (D − 1) × 100 with a plus sign; if D < 2, −100 ÷ (D − 1).
- Malay: if D ≤ 2, D − 1; if D > 2, −1 ÷ (D − 1).
- Indo: if D ≥ 2, D − 1; if D < 2, −1 ÷ (D − 1).
Our advice: set your account to decimal. It makes implied probability a one-step calculation (1 ÷ D) and keeps comparisons simple. For a general primer, see our betting odds explained guide.
Expected value at stake sizing, gamit ang ONE examples
Expected value (EV) is the average result of a bet if you could repeat it many times. For a decimal price D and your estimated win probability p, EV per 1 staked is p × D − 1. If you think a fighter at 2.85 wins 40 percent of the time, EV is 0.40 × 2.85 − 1 = +0.14, or 14 percent per unit. At 33 percent, EV is 0.33 × 2.85 − 1 = −0.06.
Two warnings. First, EV depends entirely on your probability estimate, which is uncertain. Most recreational bettors overestimate their edge. Second, even positive-EV bets lose often: a 40 percent shot loses 60 percent of the time. That's why stake sizing matters.
Simple staking rules
- Flat staking: bet the same small unit on every bet, for example 1 to 2 percent of your betting budget. Simple and safe.
- Confidence tiers: half a unit for speculative bets, one unit for normal bets, never more than two.
- Fractional Kelly: some experienced bettors size bets by a fraction of the Kelly formula, (p × D − 1) ÷ (D − 1). For the 40 percent at 2.85 example, full Kelly is 0.14 ÷ 1.85 ≈ 7.6 percent of bankroll, which is far too aggressive given uncertain estimates. A quarter of that, about 1.9 percent, is closer to what cautious bettors use.
MMA rules sa ONE na iba sa ibang promotions
Beyond judging and weight, ONE's MMA rules have historically differed from those of some other promotions in ways that influence matchups. For example, ONE's rules have allowed knees to the head of a grounded opponent, which several other major promotions prohibit. That makes certain positions more dangerous for the bottom fighter, and it can benefit wrestlers and clinch fighters who can land knees from top positions. Rules can be updated, so check ONE's current rulebook before relying on any specific point.
For bettors, the takeaway is to avoid assuming a fighter's success elsewhere will transfer directly. A wrestler who grinds out decisions under round-by-round scoring may find ONE's damage-weighted judging less favourable, while a striker with strong knees may find it more so.
Style matchups na madalas makita
| Matchup | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Wushu or sanda striker vs wrestler | Takedown defence, ability to get up quickly, kick-catch risk. |
| Muay Thai specialist in MMA | Clinch knees and elbows vs vulnerability on the ground. |
| Grappler vs grappler | Scrambles and top control; damage from top position under ONE judging. |
| Volume striker vs power striker | Damage-first judging can favour the bigger single moments. |
| Short-notice replacement | Weight, preparation time and stylistic fit; books may price uncertainly. |
Style analysis is useful, but it's also what every serious bettor does, so obvious stylistic edges are usually priced in. Look for cases where public perception, such as reputation or nationality, pulls the price away from what the styles suggest.
Women's divisions
ONE has featured women's divisions prominently, especially atomweight, in MMA as well as striking. Women's bouts are priced with the same logic as men's, but markets can be thinner and information more limited for newer fighters. Filipino women have competed on ONE cards too. As with any bout, check the ruleset, length and recent form rather than relying on reputation.
Grand Prix tournaments at alternates
From time to time ONE runs Grand Prix tournaments, where fighters advance through brackets across several events. These create unique betting situations:
- Outright markets on who wins the Grand Prix tie your money up across multiple events, with injury risk at each stage.
- Alternates may step in if a fighter can't continue. Check how your book settles outright bets if your fighter withdraws.
- Accumulated damage from earlier rounds can affect later fights, especially if the turnaround is short.
Performance bonuses at motibasyon
ONE has awarded performance bonuses for exciting finishes, which can be significant relative to many fighters' purses. Some analysts believe this encourages aggressive styles in ONE. Whether it moves the needle in a specific fight is hard to know. It's background context, not a betting system, and markets are aware of it.
Mga record: paano basahin nang tama
A fighter's "record" can mean different things depending on the source. MMA databases usually list professional MMA results only, while a fighter's ONE profile may show results within ONE across rulesets. Muay Thai and kickboxing records, particularly from Thai stadiums, are often incomplete or approximate. When comparing fighters, make sure you're comparing the same thing: pro MMA vs pro MMA, ONE striking results vs ONE striking results.
Paano kalkulahin kung tama ang presyo
Hakbang 1: Alamin ang margin
For a two-way MMA moneyline, convert both decimal prices: 1 ÷ price. Add them. The amount over 100 percent is the margin. Example: Fighter A 1.45 and Fighter B 2.85 give 69.0 and 35.1 percent, total 104.1, so a margin of about 4.1 percent.
Hakbang 2: Tanggalin ang margin
Divide each implied probability by the total: 69.0 ÷ 1.041 ≈ 66.3 percent and 35.1 ÷ 1.041 ≈ 33.7 percent. Those are the market's fair estimates.
Hakbang 3: Ikumpara sa sariling tantiya
Write down your own estimate before checking the line if you can. If you think Fighter B wins about 40 percent of the time, the price of 2.85 (break-even 35.1 percent) looks like value on your numbers. If you think 30 percent, it doesn't.
Three-way markets
For striking bouts with a draw option, there are three implied probabilities to add. A typical three-way market might be Fighter A 1.60, draw 21.00, Fighter B 2.50: implied 62.5 + 4.8 + 40.0 = 107.3 percent, so the margin is about 7.3 percent. Three-way markets usually carry more margin than two-way markets on the same bout.
These figures are illustrations, not live prices.
Method markets: paano hatiin ang moneyline
Method markets split a fighter's win chance into routes. If the market gives Fighter A a fair 66 percent to win, and his method prices imply 30 percent by KO/TKO, 12 percent by submission and 28 percent by decision, the parts add to 70 percent, more than his 66 percent fair win chance. That extra 4 percent is extra margin in the method market. Method markets almost always carry more margin than the moneyline, so a method bet needs a clear reason, such as a strong view that a fight will end early or go long.
Useful ways to form that view:
- How did each fighter's last five wins and losses end?
- Has either fighter been finished before, and how?
- Is it a three-round or five-round bout?
- In striking bouts, are small gloves being used?
- Is one fighter a heavy grappler facing a weak defensive wrestler?

Pacio vs Yamakita: paano ito titingnan (hindi pick)
To show the process, here's how we'd frame Pacio's November defence if we were forming our own estimate:
- Venue: Tokyo, the challenger's home. ONE's judges are assigned by the organisation, but crowd energy and travel still matter, especially in close decisions.
- Length: a five-round title fight. Cardio, adjustments between rounds, and late-fight durability carry more weight than in a three-rounder.
- Styles: watch both fighters' recent bouts in full. How has Pacio handled wrestlers and grapplers? How does Yamakita perform against strikers with Pacio's range and movement?
- Recent form: Pacio's July rematch win gives fresh footage; compare it with his earlier fights to see whether anything has changed.
- Market: once lines are posted, remove the margin and compare with your number. Filipino money will likely favour Pacio, so his price may be slightly shorter than a neutral view would suggest.
Whatever your view, keep the stake modest. Title fights are high-profile, and that tends to make bettors overconfident.
Paano mag-research ng ONE fighter
- Watch full fights under ONE rules. ONE posts many full fights on its official channels. Highlights hide the rounds where fighters struggle.
- Check the ruleset of every past fight. A fighter's record often mixes MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing. Separate them.
- Look at opposition quality. Wins over regional fighters mean less than wins over ranked ONE contenders.
- Activity and layoffs. Long breaks and injuries matter, especially for older fighters.
- Camp and coaching changes. Moving gyms can help or hurt; it's useful context, not a system.
- Fight-week checks. Hydration and weight results, any changes to the bout, and whether the opponent is a replacement.
Diskarte para sa buong card
A ONE card can have a dozen or more bouts across rulesets. Betting all of them is a recipe for paying a lot of margin on bouts you don't understand. A better approach:
- Pick two or three bouts you've researched. Ignore the rest, or bet them only as tiny entertainment stakes.
- Set a card budget before the first bout and split it. Don't top it up mid-card after a loss.
- Avoid long parlays. Each leg adds margin. A five-leg parlay of short favourites looks safe and isn't. If each leg is a fair 80 percent, all five win only about 33 percent of the time (0.8 to the fifth power), and the book's margin on each leg makes the price worse than that.
- Don't correlate blindly. Some books restrict combining a fighter's moneyline with his method in one parlay, because they're linked.
Our bankroll management guide explains unit sizes and limits for long cards.
Line movement at fight week
ONE lines can move a lot between opening and fight time. Common reasons:
- Sharp bettors taking an early opinion on a mispriced bout.
- Public money on popular fighters, including Filipinos, Thais and Japanese fighters at home events.
- Hydration or weight issues reported during fight week.
- Bout changes or late replacements.
If a price moves sharply against your view without visible news, take it as information. If it moves because of public enthusiasm for one fighter, the other side may become better value. Track how often your bets beat the closing price: over time, that's a better measure of your process than wins and losses on a few cards.
ONE Friday Fights: pagtaya sa weekly cards
Friday Fights at Lumpinee produce a lot of bouts every week, mostly Muay Thai and kickboxing, often featuring young Thai fighters and international prospects. For bettors, a few cautions:
- Information is thin. Many fighters have little footage outside Thai stadium broadcasts.
- Markets may be limited. Books may only list some bouts, with low limits and higher margins.
- Weekly cadence encourages habit. A card every Friday can turn into a weekly betting routine. Decide in advance whether you'll bet these at all.
If you enjoy them, keep stakes tiny and treat them as entertainment rather than a place to find value.
Five-round title fights: paano basahin ang totals
Title fights such as Pacio's November defence run up to five rounds, so total-rounds markets are set at lines like 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5. Remember how these are counted: "over 2.5 rounds" means the fight must pass the halfway point of round three, at 2 minutes 30 seconds, not merely start round three. A finish at 2:00 of round three lands under 2.5. Read your book's definition, because it decides close calls.
In five-round fights, decision outcomes tend to be priced differently than in three-rounders, because there's more time for a finish but also more time for a fighter who's ahead to manage the fight. If both fighters have strong durability and few stoppage losses, the "goes the distance" price may be shorter than casual fans expect. If one has been finished several times recently, the opposite applies.
No contest, doctor stoppage at cuts
Some outcomes catch bettors off guard:
- No contest: declared, for example, after an accidental foul early in a bout that leaves a fighter unable to continue. Most books void bets on a no contest.
- Doctor stoppage: when the ringside physician stops a bout, often for a cut. Many books count this as a TKO for method markets.
- Technical decision: if an accidental foul ends a bout after a certain point, the judges may decide on the action so far. This usually counts as a decision win.
Each organisation and each book defines these precisely in its rules. If you bet method or round markets often, read them once so you know how edge cases settle.
Gym loyalty: huwag tayaan ang buong team
When several fighters from the same gym, such as Team Lakay, appear on one card, some fans bet all of them, often in a parlay. Each fighter's bout is a separate contest with its own matchup and price. Gym identity can tell you something about training and style, but it doesn't make results move together in a reliable way. Treat each bout on its own merits, and avoid "team parlays" built on loyalty.
Tilt: kapag emosyon na ang tumataya
"Tilt" is a poker term for making bad decisions after an emotional swing. Combat sports cards are especially prone to it: a bad decision on the undercard, a fighter you backed getting knocked out early, or a near-miss parlay can all push you to bet bigger on later bouts. Simple defences: set the card budget before the first bout, place your planned bets early, and close the app until the card ends. If you notice you're adding bets you didn't plan, stop for the night.
Isang budget para sa lahat ng combat sports
Between ONE's weekly and monthly events, other MMA promotions and boxing, there's a fight card almost every weekend. Rather than a budget per event, set one monthly combat-sports budget and track it across everything. When it's used, you're done until next month, however good the next card looks.
Short-notice replacements: paano tantiyahin
When a fighter withdraws during fight week and a replacement steps in, the new bout is usually priced quickly. A few questions help you judge it. How much notice did the replacement have, and was he already in camp for another fight? Is he moving up or down in weight to take the bout? Does his style suit the original fighter's game plan, or does the original fighter now face something he didn't prepare for? Short-notice fighters sometimes perform far better than their price suggests because they have little to lose; other times they fade badly. There's no reliable rule, which is why a small stake, or no bet, is often the sensible choice.
Live betting sa ONE
Some sportsbooks offer in-play markets for main ONE bouts. Prices react to knockdowns, near-finishes and control. Two cautions specific to ONE: first, because judging assesses the whole fight with damage weighted heavily, a single big moment can swing the likely decision more than a round-by-round viewer expects. Second, streams may be delayed relative to the book's data. If you live-bet, set a budget for the bout before it starts and stick to it.

ONE publishes rankings for each sport and division. Rankings influence who gets title shots and which bouts are booked, but they're not a betting tool on their own. A top-ranked contender might be favoured on reputation while a lower-ranked fighter on a winning run is the stronger fighter right now. Use rankings to understand stakes, such as a fighter fighting for a title shot, which may affect risk-taking, rather than as a measure of who's better.
Title pictures also explain motivation. A champion defending against a mandatory contender, an ex-champion trying to earn a rematch, or a fighter moving up in weight all bring different incentives. These are soft factors; be careful not to overweight them, but they can help explain why a fighter might fight cautiously or aggressively.
Regional circuits: saan nanggaling ang mga bagong fighter
Many fighters arrive in ONE from regional promotions across Asia: in the Philippines, organisations such as URCC have long been a proving ground, while Japan, China, Thailand, Korea and others have their own circuits. Records from regional shows are hard to compare: opposition quality varies widely, and footage may be limited. When a fighter debuts in ONE after a dominant regional run, the market has to guess how the record translates. Sometimes it overrates unbeaten prospects; sometimes it underrates seasoned regional veterans. Finding and watching regional footage is time-consuming, which is exactly why it can be useful.
Pagsubaybay sa resulta at replays
ONE's official app and website post results, and many full fights are later uploaded to its official video channels. Rewatching bouts you bet on, especially ones decided by the judges, is one of the best ways to calibrate your sense of how ONE's criteria work in practice. Compare what you thought would decide the fight with what the judges rewarded.
Mga madalas na pagkakamali ng Pinoy ONE bettors
- Backing every Filipino on the card regardless of price.
- Treating an MMA record as relevant to a Muay Thai or kickboxing bout.
- Ignoring the three-round vs five-round difference on total-rounds bets.
- Comparing ONE weight classes directly with other promotions' divisions.
- Building big parlays across a whole card.
- Betting grappling matches without reading how a no-submission result is settled.
- Chasing losses on the main event after a bad undercard.
Checklist bago tumaya sa ONE bout
- Confirm the bout, ruleset, number of rounds and title status on the official card.
- Check fight-week hydration and weight results.
- Read your book's rules on draws, opponent changes and catchweights.
- Remove the margin and note the implied chances.
- Compare with your own estimate, written beforehand.
- Set a stake from your card budget and log the bet.
ONE vs UFC: ano ang pagkakaiba para sa bettor
| Aspect | ONE Championship | UFC |
|---|---|---|
| Sports on a card | MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, grappling | MMA only |
| Judging | Whole-fight assessment, damage first | Ten-point must, round by round |
| Weight management | Hydration testing plus weight; higher listed limits | Weigh-in on the day before; large cuts common |
| Typical time in Manila | Evening or Saturday morning, close to our time zone | Main cards Sunday morning to midday for US events |
| Market depth | Good for main events; thinner lower down | Deep across most of the card |
| Filipino presence | Significant, led by Team Lakay | Fewer Filipino fighters |
The practical conclusion: what works for you on UFC cards may not transfer to ONE. Our UFC betting Philippines guide covers that promotion separately.
Favourites, underdogs at ang longshot bias
Across many betting markets, researchers have documented a "favourite-longshot bias": bettors tend to overbet longshots, so long prices offer worse value on average than short ones. Whether and how strongly it applies to a particular ONE market is hard to know, but it's a useful caution. A 6.00 underdog feels exciting because it pays five times your stake, but if the fair price is 8.00, you're paying a large hidden premium. Remove the margin and compare with your estimate every time, especially on big underdogs.
The flip side is that heavy favourites aren't free money either. A fighter at 1.15 needs to win about 87 percent of the time just to break even. Upsets happen in every promotion. Short favourites are often used as "bankers" in parlays, which hides how much risk they add.
Edad at decline sa combat sports
Age affects fighters differently by weight class and style, but some general patterns are widely discussed: lighter fighters, whose game depends heavily on speed, often decline earlier than heavier ones; durability tends to drop after accumulated damage; and long layoffs can expose decline. Markets know this too. Where bettors go wrong is relying on a veteran's name and old highlights. Watch the last two or three fights, not the career reel.
Paano nase-settle ang cancelled at changed bouts
Bout changes are common enough in combat sports that it pays to know the usual rules. They vary by book, but typical policies are:
- Bout cancelled: bets are void and refunded.
- Opponent replaced: bets on the original pairing are usually void. Some books keep outright or fighter-specific specials live; read the rules.
- Bout moved to another event: some books void if the date changes beyond a set window; others keep bets if the bout happens within a defined period.
- Number of rounds changed: total-rounds and round markets are often voided; moneylines usually stand.
- Ruleset changed (rare): most markets would be voided.
- Result overturned later (for example after an appeal or a failed drug test): most books settle on the official result at the time of the event and don't re-settle.
Props at special markets
Bigger ONE events may have additional markets, such as whether a fight goes the distance, whether there's a knockdown, or double-chance options in striking bouts. These are fine for specific views but tend to carry higher margins and lower limits. A useful habit: before betting any prop, find the plain market that expresses the same idea. If you think a fight ends early, compare the "goes the distance: no" price with the combined KO and submission prices. Pick whichever pays more for the same outcome.
Worked example: isang buong card
To pull everything together, imagine a hypothetical ONE card with ten bouts: four MMA, four Muay Thai, one kickboxing and one grappling match. You have a budget of ₱2,000 for the night.
- Shortlist. You've watched recent fights for three bouts: two MMA bouts and one Muay Thai bout. You skip the rest, including the grappling match because you're unsure how a no-submission result is settled.
- Price check. Bout A: your estimate is 55 percent for Fighter X at 2.00 (break-even 50 percent). Bout B: your estimate is 70 percent for Fighter Y at 1.36 (break-even 73.5 percent). Bout C: your estimate is 38 percent for the underdog at 2.90 (break-even 34.5 percent).
- Decide. Bout A and Bout C look like small positive-EV opportunities on your numbers. Bout B doesn't: you like Fighter Y, but the price is too short.
- Stake. Flat ₱400 on A and ₱400 on C. You keep ₱1,200 unbet. That's fine; your budget is a ceiling, not a target.
- Outcomes. If both win: +₱400 and +₱760. If both lose: −₱800. If one wins: roughly break-even to modest profit. None of these outcomes is a disaster.
- Log. Record prices, closing prices and results, plus a note on what happened in each bout.
The example is invented, but the structure, research a few bouts, check prices against your numbers, bet small, and leave money unbet, is what separates a sustainable hobby from an expensive one.
Saan kukuha ng impormasyon
Reliable sources for ONE betting research include ONE's official website and app (cards, results, rankings, full fights), established MMA and Muay Thai news outlets, and fight records databases. Local Philippine sports media cover Filipino fighters closely, including camp news. Be cautious with social-media "insider" claims and paid tipster groups; nobody legitimately sells certainty in combat sports.
Paano pondohan ang account mula sa Pilipinas
Offshore sportsbooks like Cloudbet work in crypto. The common route for Filipino players is to buy a stablecoin such as USDT through a local wallet or exchange, then send it to the sportsbook on a supported network. Practical tips:
- Use a network that both your wallet and the sportsbook support, and copy the deposit address exactly. A wrong network can mean lost funds.
- Send a small test amount first if you're new to it.
- Network fees vary; a few networks are much cheaper for small amounts.
- Keep records of deposits and withdrawals for your own budgeting.
Our step-by-step guide on depositing to a crypto sportsbook using GCash covers the details, and our page on the wrong-network deposit problem explains what to do if something goes wrong.
Template para sa betting log
A simple log helps you learn which kinds of ONE bets work for you. Here's a format you can copy into a spreadsheet:
| Column | Example |
|---|---|
| Date / event | 18 Nov / ONE Samurai 5 |
| Bout and ruleset | Strawweight MMA title, 5 rounds |
| Market and selection | Moneyline, Fighter X |
| Price taken | 2.10 |
| Market fair chance at bet time | 45% |
| My estimate | 50% |
| Stake (units) | 1 |
| Closing price | 1.95 |
| Result and profit/loss | Loss, −1 unit |
| Notes | Lost a close decision; damage-first judging favoured opponent's knockdown |
The example values are made up. After twenty or thirty entries, look for patterns: are you better on MMA or striking? On favourites or underdogs? Do you beat the closing price?
Glossary: mga terminong dapat alam

Mga myth tungkol sa ONE betting
- "Champions always win at home." Home support helps in close fights, but it's priced in, and champions lose title fights regularly in every promotion.
- "Thai fighters always win Muay Thai bouts." Thai fighters are formidable in Muay Thai, but foreign fighters have held ONE Muay Thai titles, and ONE's small-glove format changes things.
- "Hydration rules mean no weight problems." They reduce extreme cuts, but fighters still fail checks, and bouts still change.
- "A fighter with a long winning streak is a safe parlay leg." Streaks against weaker opposition mean less than they appear to, and parlays multiply risk.
- "Live odds are slow, so I can beat them." Your stream is usually behind the book's data feed.
Mga senyales na sobra na ang pagtaya
Combat sports are fast, emotional and available almost every week between ONE, other promotions and boxing. Watch for these signs in yourself:
- You bet on bouts you haven't researched because you "need action."
- You raise stakes after losses to win it back on the main event.
- You borrow money or use bill money to fund an account.
- You feel anxious or irritable when you can't bet on a card.
- You hide your betting from family.
Other warning signs include betting on sports or rulesets you don't follow just because a card is on, spending more time thinking about bets than enjoying the fights, and feeling that you must win back losses before you can stop. If any of these sound familiar, take a break and talk to someone. The helpline below is free and confidential.

Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)
Mas madali bang tumaya sa ONE kaysa sa UFC?
Not necessarily. ONE cards mix rulesets and some bouts have thin markets, which makes them harder to price, for bettors and books alike.
Ano ang ONE Friday Fights?
Weekly cards at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, mostly Muay Thai and kickboxing, often with lesser-known fighters and limited markets.
Anong odds format ang dapat kong gamitin?
Decimal. It makes implied probability easy to calculate (1 divided by the price) and simplifies comparisons.
Ano ang mangyayari sa taya kung napalitan ang kalaban?
Most books void bets when an opponent changes. Check your book's specific rules.
Paano ako magsisimula kung baguhan ako?
Watch a full card first, then estimate probabilities before checking prices, and bet small flat stakes only after you've compared your numbers with the market.
Sino ang Filipino world champion sa ONE ngayon?
Joshua Pacio is the ONE strawweight MMA world champion. He defends against Keito Yamakita at ONE Samurai 5 in Tokyo on 18 November 2026.
Bakit mas mabigat ang weight limits sa ONE?
Because ONE requires fighters to pass hydration tests as well as make weight, discouraging extreme cuts. Its limits are set higher to compensate.
Paano pinupuntusan ang decision sa ONE?
Judges assess the whole fight, with damage and near-finishes weighted first, rather than scoring each round separately.
Puwede bang mag-draw sa ONE?
Draws are rare in MMA but possible in striking bouts and some grappling formats. Check whether your market is two-way or three-way.
Anong oras ang ONE events sa Pilipinas?
Bangkok cards start one hour later on the Manila clock; Singapore cards are the same time; Tokyo cards an hour earlier. ONE Fight Night cards often start Saturday morning in Manila.
Pareho ba ang Muay Thai at kickboxing sa ONE?
No. Muay Thai allows elbows and clinch work; kickboxing doesn't allow elbows and limits clinching. Bet them differently.
Dapat ba akong tumaya sa lahat ng bout sa card?
No. Pick a few you've researched and keep a fixed card budget.
Legal ba ang Cloudbet sa Pilipinas?
Cloudbet is Curaçao-licensed and accepts Philippine players, but it is not PAGCOR-licensed. Bet only if you are 21 or older.
