The sell flow in GCrypto

  1. Open GCash and tap GCrypto.
  2. Select USDT from your holdings.
  3. Tap Sell.
  4. Enter the amount, either in USDT or in pesos, depending on what the screen offers. Many people sell everything; you can also sell part.
  5. Review the peso amount you'll receive. This is the number that matters.
  6. Confirm. The pesos are credited to your GCash wallet balance, usually right away.

There's no separate selling fee shown in most cases; the cost is built into the sell price as a spread. GCrypto is run by PDAX, a BSP-licensed exchange, so the sale happens inside a regulated platform.

Reading the sell price

GCrypto shows a buy price and a sell price for USDT. The sell price is lower. If buy is ₱59.10 and sell is ₱57.40 at a given moment, the gap is ₱1.70, about 2.9% of the price. Those are example figures; check the live screen. A useful habit is to compare the sell price with the mid-market USD/PHP rate from a reliable source at the same time:

Our PHP to USDT rate page explains the three kinds of rates you'll see quoted.

What 100 USDT turns into

Assume mid-market is ₱58 per USDT. Here's how much 100 USDT nets at different spreads, as an illustration:

Spread below midSell pricePesos for 100 USDTCost vs mid
0.5%₱57.71₱5,771₱29
1.5%₱57.13₱5,713₱87
3%₱56.26₱5,626₱174

On a few thousand pesos, the difference between a good and a bad moment is real but not huge. On ₱100,000, it can be thousands, so large sellers should pay more attention.

Sell all at once or in parts?

For most people, selling in one go is fine. USDT tracks the dollar, so you're not trying to catch a crypto rally. Splitting can make sense when:

Don't split simply to stay under review thresholds. Regulated platforms watch for that pattern, and it can trigger the very reviews you're trying to avoid.

Timing tips

The peso-dollar rate moves slowly most days, but spreads on instant convert features can widen during sharp crypto market moves, weekends or app maintenance. If the sell price looks poor, check again in a few hours. Avoid selling during announced maintenance windows, when features can be limited.

Selling large amounts

If you're selling the equivalent of ₱50,000 or more, plan a little. Large crypto movements into a regulated Philippine wallet can trigger questions about where the funds came from, under anti-money laundering rules. Have a simple explanation and supporting records ready: a casino withdrawal history, a client invoice, or exchange statements. For very large sums, compare GCrypto's instant sell price with the order-book price on PDAX or Coins.ph; on six-figure amounts, even half a percent is worth a few minutes of checking. Also remember that the pesos need somewhere to land, so confirm your GCash wallet limit or plan a bank transfer.

Should you keep some USDT?

Some people keep a small USDT balance for future transfers, so they don't pay a buy spread every time. That's reasonable if you genuinely use it, for example paying a freelancer abroad or receiving regular payments. But if the "reserve" is really there to redeposit at a casino when the urge hits, sell it. Friction is helpful when it comes to gambling money; having to rebuy USDT is a pause that can stop an impulsive deposit.

Where the pesos go next

After the sale, pesos sit in your GCash wallet. From there you can pay bills, buy load, send to another GCash user, or transfer to a bank. Bank transfers from GCash go through InstaPay or PESONet; InstaPay is near-instant and usually has a small fee, while PESONet is batch-processed. Check the current fee in the app's Send to Bank screen. Keep your GCash wallet limit in mind if you're selling a large amount, since the incoming pesos count toward it.

When the Sell button doesn't work

More troubleshooting is in our GCash crypto not working guide.

Selling other stablecoins

GCrypto also lists USDC and PYUSD on some networks. They're dollar stablecoins too, and the sell flow is identical, but their spreads may differ from USDT's on any given day. If you received USDC by mistake thinking it was USDT, don't panic: as long as it arrived on a network GCrypto supports for that coin, you can sell it the same way. If it arrived on an unsupported network, it may not show at all, which is a support case, not a selling problem.

Common mistakes when selling

Selling outside GCash

You can also sell USDT on other BSP-licensed platforms such as Coins.ph or PDAX's own exchange, then cash out pesos to a bank or e-wallet. An order book can sometimes give a slightly better price on large amounts, at the cost of an extra transfer and possible cash-out fee. Avoid selling via P2P on exchanges the SEC has flagged as unregistered, including OKX and MEXC. Buyers can pay with money taken from scam victims, and when the victim files a complaint, your GCash is the account that gets frozen. Our GCash and USDT routes guide compares the options.

Sold your winnings? A few habits worth keeping

If the USDT came from a crypto sportsbook or casino, selling it promptly is one of the best money habits you can have. Winnings left in a casino account tend to get re-bet. A few suggestions:

Cloudbet, which accepts USDT, is licensed in Curaçao and not by PAGCOR, so any payout dispute goes through the operator and the Curaçao regulator. Gambling is for adults 21 and over; PAGCOR also bars students and government employees.

Scams around selling USDT

The only safe sell button is the one inside your own GCash app.

Keep records of every sale

Screenshot the confirmation showing USDT sold, sell price and pesos received. With the transaction history in GCrypto, that gives you a clear trail if support ever asks about the source of funds or if you need to reconcile your own budget.

Taglish recap

Quick checklist

  1. USDT shows as available in GCrypto, not pending.
  2. Sell price checked against mid-market.
  3. Peso amount reviewed before confirming.
  4. Wallet limit has room for the pesos.
  5. Confirmation screenshot saved.

Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)

May fee ba ang pagbenta ng USDT sa GCash?

There's usually no separate fee; the cost is in the spread between the buy and sell price.

Saan napupunta ang pera pagkatapos magbenta?

Directly to your GCash wallet balance, usually immediately.

Bakit hindi ko ma-sell ang USDT ko?

It may still be pending review, you may be near your wallet limit, or the feature may be under maintenance.

Mas maganda bang mag-sell sa P2P?

P2P on unregistered exchanges risks fake payments and frozen accounts. Licensed platforms are safer.

Licensed ba ng PAGCOR ang Cloudbet?

No, Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao.
