This guide covers M-series World Championship odds with a focus on M8, set for January 2027. We don't post live odds or picks. For MLBB betting basics see our MLBB betting guide, and for the mid-year event our MSC odds guide.

Ano ang M-series?
The M-series World Championship is Moonton's top MLBB tournament, held once a year, usually in December or January. It gathers the best teams from every region after their domestic seasons. Winning the M-series is the highest honour in competitive MLBB, above the Mid Season Cup.
Ang Philippine streak
Indonesia's EVOS won the first edition, M1. Since then, MPL PH teams have won every edition from M2 to M7, six in a row. Highlights include all-Filipino Grand Finals at M3 (Blacklist International) and M4 (ECHO), AP Bren winning M5 on home soil in Manila, and Aurora Gaming PH sweeping host team Alter Ego 4-0 at M7 in Jakarta on 25 January 2026, taking the US$320,000 champion's prize. At M7, Selangor Red Giants of Malaysia finished third and Team Liquid PH fourth.
That run is extraordinary, and it shapes the market. When one country wins six straight, books and bettors naturally price its teams short. The question is whether the streak is already fully reflected in the price, or overstated, especially after MSC 2026, where Team Spirit of EECA won and the best Filipino finish was fourth.
M8: ang alam natin
- When: January 2027.
- Where: the Wild Card stage in Bangkok, Thailand; the main stage and playoffs in Istanbul, Türkiye, the M-series' European debut.
- Teams: 23 in total. Ten teams contest the Wild Card for three places in a 16-team main stage.
- Slots: Southeast Asia has eight direct main-stage slots: two each for Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia, with the rest decided by SEA regional qualifying. EECA, MENA, Turkey, East Asia and the Americas each get one direct slot.
- New: it's the first M-series fed by the MLBB Championship Tour (MCT), Moonton's new regional competition layer.
Exact daily dates, the main-stage format and the final list of qualified teams depend on Moonton's announcements. The Philippines' two direct slots will go to MPL PH teams under the league's qualification rules, so watch the MPL PH Season 18 playoffs (21–25 October 2026) and the official announcements that follow. See our MPL PH odds guide for the playoff picture.
Bakit iba ang M-series odds sa MPL odds
- Cross-region uncertainty. Teams from different leagues rarely meet, so prices rely on reputation and past international results.
- Bigger margins on outrights. With 16 or more teams, outright markets carry large total margins.
- Roster changes. The M-series comes after domestic seasons, when transfers and retirements happen. A team's league form may not carry over.
- Patch timing. International patches may differ from what teams played domestically.
- Venue and travel. Istanbul is a long trip for SEA teams and closer for Turkish, MENA and EECA sides.
Outright odds: paano basahin
Add up the implied chances of every team in the outright market. You'll often find a total of 120 percent or more, meaning a large margin. To estimate fair chances, divide each team's implied chance by the total. Then compare with your own view.
Example with made-up prices for four teams out of a larger field: Team A at 4.00 (25.0 percent implied), Team B at 5.00 (20.0), Team C at 7.00 (14.3), Team D at 9.00 (11.1). If the whole field adds up to 125 percent, fair chances are 20.0, 16.0, 11.4 and 8.9 percent. If you think Team C's true chance is 15 percent, its price of 7.00 implies value; if you think it's 10 percent, it doesn't.
Bakit hindi ganoon kataas ang tsansa ng paborito
Even a dominant team must win several knockout series. If a team wins each playoff series 70 percent of the time and needs four straight wins, its title chance is about 24 percent (0.7⁴). At 75 percent per series it's about 32 percent. An outright price of 2.50 on any team implies a 40 percent chance before margin, which would require it to be overwhelming in every series. That's rarely realistic in a 16-team field, even for a Filipino team riding the streak.
Region-based markets
Some books offer "winning country" or "winning region" markets. A "Philippines to win" price aggregates every MPL PH team. With two direct slots plus any MPL PH team that qualifies through other routes, the Philippine side of that market covers only a couple of teams. Six straight titles might suggest a short price is justified; MSC 2026 suggests the field is catching up. Your job is to decide where the truth lies between those two signals and compare with the price.
Ang "host curse" at home crowd
MLBB fans talk about a "host curse," where the host country's teams fail at home. AP Bren broke that for the Philippines at M5 in Manila, and at M7 the host team Alter Ego reached the final but lost 4-0 to Aurora PH. For M8 in Istanbul, any Turkish representative will have home support. Treat curses as stories, not data: crowd energy may help a little, but the sample is far too small to bet on.
Series markets sa main stage at playoffs
Each series has a moneyline, map handicap, total maps and correct score. Longer series favour the stronger team; a Bo7 Grand Final gives the better side the biggest edge. Map props such as first blood, first Turtle, first Lord and total kills are common too; our first blood betting guide explains one in detail. For outrights and staking across an event, see our MLBB tournament betting guide.
Paano suriin ang isang M8 team
- Domestic playoff form, not just regular-season record.
- International record at MSC 2026 and M7, including how they lost.
- Roster stability after the domestic season ends.
- Bootcamp and travel. Teams that arrive early to adjust tend to settle better.
- Meta adaptability. Teams with deep hero pools handle new patches better.
- Head-to-head results against likely opponents, if any.
Wild Card sa Bangkok
Ten teams compete for three main-stage places. Books know less about many of these teams, and prices can be rough. Value may exist, but so does more uncertainty. The three SEA qualifiers through the MCT SEA route could be stronger than their seeding suggests, since SEA depth is high. Keep Wild Card stakes small and research before betting.
Time zones: Bangkok at Istanbul
Bangkok is one hour behind Manila. Istanbul is five hours behind, so evening matches in Türkiye land around midnight or later in the Philippines. Decide pre-match bets before late matches start, and avoid impulsive late-night live bets.
Mula series price papuntang per-map chance
To check whether a series price makes sense, convert it to a per-map chance. Remove the margin first: if a Bo5 is priced 1.50 and 2.60, implied chances are 66.7 and 38.5 percent, total 105.2 percent, so the fair series chance is about 63.4 percent. A 63 percent Bo5 chance corresponds to roughly a 57 to 58 percent per-map chance. Now ask: is that how often you'd expect this team to win a single map against this opponent? If you think it's closer to 62 percent per map, the Bo5 is worth about 72 percent and the 1.50 price is generous. If you think 54 percent, the series is about 57 percent and 1.50 is short.
Pinoy team vs foreign team: paano tingnan ang presyo
When an MPL PH team meets a team from a newer region, the price often leans heavily towards the Filipino side. Sometimes that's right; SEA depth is real. But ask two questions. First, has the foreign team beaten strong SEA opposition recently, at MSC or elsewhere? Team Spirit's 2026 run is the obvious example. Second, is the Filipino team at its best, or has it lost a key player or form since its domestic playoffs? If the answer to the first is yes and the second is no, the price on the Filipino team may be too short, regardless of the streak.

Kailan lumalabas ang M8 odds
Outright markets for the M-series can open months ahead, often before every team has qualified. Early prices carry extra uncertainty: you may be backing a team that doesn't even reach the main stage, and books usually settle such bets as losses rather than refunds. If you want early value, focus on teams that have already secured slots, or wait until the field is confirmed after the domestic playoffs and SEA qualifiers. Series prices for the main stage usually appear a day or two before each match, once the schedule is fixed. Prices tend to be most accurate just before the start, when all lineup news is known, so early bets only make sense if you believe you're seeing something the market hasn't priced yet.
Live betting sa M8
With matches landing late at night in Manila, live betting carries extra risk: you're tired, streams can lag, and it's easy to chase losses. If you do bet live, define in advance what situation would make you act, for example a team with a late-game draft trailing slightly in gold, and don't bet outside that plan. Use a smaller live budget than for pre-match bets.
Settlement: postponement at venue changes
International events occasionally face schedule changes, technical issues or venue adjustments. Sportsbook rules usually say that a series bet stands if the series is played within a set period, and that outright bets stand as long as the tournament is completed. Map-level markets may be voided after remakes depending on the rules. Read your book's esports terms before the event so a surprise doesn't become a dispute.
Top 4, finalist at "to reach" markets
Besides the outright, books often offer "to reach the final," "to finish top four" or "to reach the playoffs." These let you back a team you rate highly without needing it to win everything. Using the earlier example, a team that wins each playoff series 70 percent of the time reaches the final roughly 49 percent of the time if it needs two wins to get there, versus 24 percent to win the title. If a "to reach the final" price is 2.40 (41.7 percent implied) and you trust your 49 percent, that's a better bet than the outright. These markets also carry margins, so compare carefully.
Tournament MVP market
Some books offer a tournament or Finals MVP market. Like any MVP bet, you're betting on two things: the team going deep, and the player standing out. Junglers, gold laners and EXP laners on winning teams often get the award, but it varies. Prices on stars of favourite teams are usually short. If you want exposure to a team, the outright or "to reach final" markets are usually cleaner.
Worked example: hedging ng M8 outright
Say you bet ₱300 on a team at 12.00 before M8. It reaches the Grand Final, where it's priced at 2.10 and its opponent at 1.75. Your outright now pays ₱3,600 if your team wins. To guarantee profit, you could bet the opponent: ₱2,000 at 1.75 returns ₱3,500. If your team wins, you collect ₱3,600 minus the ₱2,300 total staked, a ₱1,300 profit. If the opponent wins, you collect ₱3,500 minus ₱2,300, a ₱1,200 profit. Either way you win about ₱1,200–1,300. Or you might hedge only half, accepting some risk for a bigger upside. There's no correct answer; it depends on how much the guaranteed amount matters to you. Just do the arithmetic before the final, not during it. Remember too that every hedge pays the book's margin again, so a hedge always lowers your expected profit slightly in exchange for certainty; it's insurance, not free money.
Grand Final: Bo7 math
In a best-of-seven Grand Final, the stronger team's per-map edge becomes a larger series edge: a 60 percent map favourite wins a Bo7 about 71 percent of the time. A sweep like Aurora PH's 4-0 at M7 happens for a 60 percent favourite only about 13 percent of the time, so it was impressive but not impossible. Between evenly matched finalists, the series reaches Game 7 about 31 percent of the time.
Mga aral mula sa M7
- Domestic results don't settle everything. Aurora PH had lost the MPL PH Season 16 Grand Final 4-0 to Team Liquid PH, then won the world title weeks later.
- Drafting matters at the top. Reports on the M7 final credited Aurora's drafts and execution against Alter Ego's early aggression.
- Home crowds don't guarantee results. Alter Ego reached the final at home but was swept.
- The field is deep. Team Spirit finished in the top six at M7 before winning MSC six months later.
Ano ang binago ng MLBB Championship Tour
The MCT, introduced in 2026, adds regional competition that feeds into the M-series for the first time at M8. In SEA it provides a route for teams beyond the direct league slots; elsewhere it builds regional circuits in East Asia and the Americas. For bettors, it means more teams with international-level practice, and potentially stronger Wild Card entrants than in past editions.
Mga mito sa M-series betting
- "Laging Pinoy ang champion." Six straight is a remarkable record, not a law. MSC 2026 shows others can win.
- "Ang may home crowd ang mananalo." Recent host teams have both won and lost; the evidence is thin.
- "Ang MPL champion ang pinakamalakas sa M." M7's winner wasn't the most recent MPL PH champion.
- "Malaking odds = magandang value." Long prices in outrights often carry the biggest margins.
Budget para sa M8
M8 will run for most of January 2027, right after the holidays when many people's budgets are already stretched. Decide your total before the Wild Card starts, and split it across stages: a small slice for outrights, more for main-stage and playoff series you've researched, and a fixed amount for the final. Don't top up mid-event. If December spending left little room, the cheapest way to enjoy M8 is to watch without betting.
Mga dapat bantayan bago ang M8
- The MPL PH Season 18 playoffs and which teams claim the Philippine slots.
- Results in MPL ID and MPL MY playoffs, which decide SEA's other direct slots.
- Whether Team Spirit and other non-SEA contenders keep their MSC form.
- Roster moves in November and December.
- The main-stage format and seeding once announced.
