Saan tayo ngayon: ang 2026-27 season
The New York Knicks are the defending champions. They beat the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the 2026 Finals, clinching with a 94-90 road win in Game 5 on 13 June 2026 (US date), their first title since 1973. Jalen Brunson was Finals MVP after scoring 45 in the clincher and averaging 32.6 points in the series. Game 4 was historic: the Knicks came back from 29 points down to win 107-106, the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.
The new season opens on 20 October 2026 (US date), which is the morning of 21 October in Manila, and the offseason reshaped several contenders: LeBron James and Jaylen Brown joined Philadelphia, and Giannis Antetokounmpo moved to Miami. Big moves like these are exactly what pushes championship prices around in the preseason.
| Season | Champion |
|---|---|
| 2020-21 | Milwaukee Bucks |
| 2021-22 | Golden State Warriors |
| 2022-23 | Denver Nuggets |
| 2023-24 | Boston Celtics |
| 2024-25 | Oklahoma City Thunder |
| 2025-26 | New York Knicks |
Six different champions in six seasons. That's worth keeping in mind whenever someone tells you a team is a "lock" in October.
Tatlong uri ng Finals market
1. Championship futures (outright winner)
Available all year. You pick which team will win the title. Prices are long for most teams and short for the few favourites. Your money is tied up until June.
2. Series price (once the Finals are set)
When two teams reach the Finals, the book offers a two-way market on who wins the series. Margins are much lower than in the outright market because there are only two outcomes.
3. Exact result and specials
Markets such as "Knicks 4-1" or "series goes to Game 7," plus the Finals MVP. These pay more but carry higher margins and higher variance.
Ang tagong margin sa championship futures
In a two-way game market, the margin is usually a few percent. In a 30-team outright market, it is often far larger. You can measure it yourself:
- Convert each team's decimal price to an implied probability: 1 ÷ price.
- Add the implied probabilities for all 30 teams.
- Anything over 100 percent is the book's margin, spread across the field.
It's common for an NBA outright market to total well over 120 percent at many books. Most of the excess usually sits on the longshots: a team priced at 501.00 might have a "fair" price that's much higher. That's why a championship ticket on a longshot is usually worse value than it looks, even though the potential payout is exciting.
| Example prices (illustrative) | Implied chance |
|---|---|
| Team A 4.50 | 22.2% |
| Team B 6.00 | 16.7% |
| Team C 8.00 | 12.5% |
| Team D 10.00 | 10.0% |
| Team E 13.00 | 7.7% |
| Next 25 teams combined | about 55% |
| Total | about 124% |
These numbers are made up to illustrate the arithmetic, not current prices. If you want the market's "fair" view of Team A in this example, divide 22.2 by 1.24, which gives about 17.9 percent, or a fair price of around 5.6 instead of 4.50.
Ang presyo ng paghihintay
A championship bet placed in October ties up your money for about eight months. Even if the price were fair, that's money you can't use for anything else. It also exposes you to things no one can predict in October: a star's knee injury in February, a trade at the deadline, a coaching change. Bettors who like futures usually keep them small, a few percent of their season budget, and treat them as a long-running interest in the season rather than a serious investment.
Paano gumagalaw ang championship odds sa buong season
| Period | What moves prices | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Offseason to October | Trades, free agency, injuries from summer | Most uncertainty; biggest margins on longshots. |
| First 20 games | Early records, which are noisy | Markets can overreact to hot or cold starts. |
| NBA Cup (Nov to Dec) | Visibility of strong teams in a mini-tournament | Cup results count for little in championship odds; don't overweight them. |
| Trade deadline (Feb) | Roster upgrades and salary dumps | Sharp moves within hours; often overnight in Manila. |
| Last month of regular season | Seeding, rest, injuries | Market becomes more efficient as contenders are clear. |
| Playoffs | Each series result | Prices tighten quickly; margins fall as fewer teams remain. |
Series price: paano basahin kapag Finals na
Once two teams are left, the series market works like a big two-way moneyline. Remove the margin to see the market's view. Suppose the favourite is 1.55 and the underdog 2.55. Implied chances: 64.5 and 39.2 percent, total 103.7. Fair chances: about 62.2 and 37.8 percent. That's the market saying the favourite wins the series a bit less than two times in three.
Per-game strength vs series probability
Basketball series amplify small per-game edges. A team that wins each game 60 percent of the time wins a best-of-seven about 71 percent of the time. We calculated the table below with the binomial formula, treating every game as having the same win chance (in reality, home court shifts the chance from game to game, so treat this as a rough guide):
| Per-game win chance | Wins series | 4-0 | 4-1 | 4-2 | 4-3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50% | 50.0% | 6.2% | 12.5% | 15.6% | 15.6% |
| 55% | 60.8% | 9.2% | 16.5% | 18.5% | 16.7% |
| 60% | 71.0% | 13.0% | 20.7% | 20.7% | 16.6% |
| 65% | 80.0% | 17.9% | 25.0% | 21.9% | 15.3% |
| 70% | 87.4% | 24.0% | 28.8% | 21.6% | 13.0% |
| 75% | 92.9% | 31.6% | 31.6% | 19.8% | 9.9% |
Three useful lessons from this table:
- Sweeps are rarer than fans think. Even a team that wins 65 percent of individual games sweeps less than one time in five.
- The most likely exact result for a moderate favourite is 4-1 or 4-2. That's why exact-result prices on 4-1 and 4-2 are usually the shortest.
- A coin-flip series goes six or seven games almost a third of the time each. Bets on "series goes the distance" are more realistic between evenly matched teams.
The 2026 Finals ended 4-1, the single most likely result for a team that's a solid favourite game by game, even though the Knicks trailed by double digits in all four of their wins.
Paano nagbabago ang series odds pagkatapos ng bawat laro
During a series, the price moves after every game. Using the same simple model, here's how a team's chance of winning the series changes with the score, for three per-game strengths. "Even" means a 50 percent per-game team, "favourite" 60 percent, and "underdog" 40 percent.
| Series score (team's wins first) | Even team | Favourite (60%) | Underdog (40%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-0 | 65.6% | 82.1% | 45.6% |
| 2-0 | 81.2% | 91.3% | 66.3% |
| 0-2 | 18.8% | 33.7% | 8.7% |
| 2-1 | 68.8% | 82.1% | 52.5% |
| 1-2 | 31.2% | 47.5% | 17.9% |
| 3-1 | 87.5% | 93.6% | 78.4% |
| 1-3 | 12.5% | 21.6% | 6.4% |
| 3-2 | 75.0% | 84.0% | 64.0% |
| 3-0 | 93.8% | 97.4% | 87.0% |
What this shows:
- Game 1 matters a lot in an even series: winning it moves you from 50 to about 66 percent.
- A good team down 0-2 is not finished. A 60 percent per-game team still wins about a third of the time from 0-2. Markets know this, but fans often panic.
- 3-1 comebacks are rare but not impossible. Even a strong team trailing 1-3 comes back roughly one time in five in this model, and much less often if it's the weaker side.
Real series are messier: home court alternates, injuries happen, and coaches adjust. But if a live series price looks wildly different from these numbers, there's usually a specific reason, like a star's injury, worth finding before you bet.
Playoff format: ang daan papuntang Finals
Understanding the path helps with futures. After the regular season, the top six teams in each conference qualify directly. Teams seventh to tenth play the play-in tournament for the last two spots in each conference. Then sixteen teams play four rounds of best-of-seven series: first round, conference semifinals, conference finals, and the Finals. A champion needs sixteen playoff wins. Every round adds risk: a team with a 70 percent chance in each of four series has only about a 24 percent chance of winning all four (0.7 × 0.7 × 0.7 × 0.7). That simple multiplication explains why even clear favourites rarely sit below about 3.00 in preseason championship markets.
Seeding matters too. The higher seed gets home court in each series, and conference brackets are fixed, so a strong team can face another contender as early as the second round. Futures prices react when the bracket takes shape in April.
Exact-result betting: paano malaman kung tama ang presyo
Using the table, you can turn a series price into fair exact-result prices. If the market gives a team about 71 percent to win the series, that roughly matches a 60 percent per-game team. The fair chance of a 4-1 win is then around 20.7 percent, a fair price of about 4.83. If a book offers 4.50, you're paying margin; at 5.50, you'd be getting more than the rough model suggests. Because home court and injuries complicate things, treat small differences as noise and look only for large gaps.
Exact-result markets usually carry bigger margins than the series price. Add up all eight outcomes' implied chances to see how big. If it's well above 115 percent, most bettors are better off with the plain series price.
Finals format at oras sa Manila
The NBA Finals use a 2-2-1-1-1 format: the team with the better record hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7, and the other team hosts Games 3, 4 and 6. Games usually tip off in the US evening during daylight time, which typically means around 8:00 to 8:30 AM in Manila. The Finals usually start in early June and finish by mid-to-late June. Exact dates and times are only confirmed once the conference finals end, so check the league's schedule then. For converting any NBA time to Philippine time, our NBA Philippine time guide has a cheat sheet.
Home court sa series price
Home-court advantage in the NBA is real but smaller than it used to be. In a best-of-seven, having four potential home games instead of three is worth a few percentage points in series probability. Books include it in the series price, so don't add it again in your head.
Finals MVP: isang espesyal na market
The Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP is voted by a panel of media members after the series. A few patterns make this market different:
- It almost always goes to a player on the winning team. Only once in Finals history, in 1969, did a player from the losing team win it. So a Finals MVP bet is, in effect, a bet on the series winner plus the best player on that team.
- The top scorer usually wins. Brunson's 32.6 points per game in 2026 is a typical profile.
- Before the Finals, MVP odds track the favourite's star closely. If a team is a 65 percent series favourite and its best player is the clear focal point, his MVP price should be somewhat shorter than the team's series price allows for, not longer. If it looks the other way round, find out why.
- Defensive anchors and second stars occasionally win when the leading scorer struggles or is injured. These are the outcomes longshot MVP bets are built on.
Conference winner at "to reach the Finals" markets
Between the outright and the series price sit conference markets: who wins the East or West. These usually have lower margins than the full championship market because there are half as many teams. If you have a view that a team is the best in its conference but you're unsure about the Finals, a conference bet expresses that more precisely than a championship ticket.
Hedging: dapat ba?
Suppose you bet a team to win the title in November at a long price, and they reach the Finals. Should you bet the other side to guarantee a profit? Hedging reduces variance, but each hedge pays the book's margin again. A few rules of thumb:
- Hedge only if the potential win is large relative to your budget and a loss would genuinely hurt.
- Calculate the guaranteed outcome both ways before you hedge.
- Partial hedges are fine; you don't have to lock in an equal result.
- Don't hedge just to "feel safe" if the amount at risk is small for you.
Example: you staked ₱500 at 21.00 on a team that reached the Finals, so a win returns ₱10,500. The opponent is now 2.20 in the series market. Betting ₱4,500 on the opponent returns ₱9,900 if they win. Outcomes: if your team wins, ₱10,500 minus the ₱4,500 hedge and the original ₱500, about ₱5,500 profit. If the opponent wins, ₱9,900 minus ₱5,000 total staked, about ₱4,900 profit. That's a nearly equal result either way. Whether it's worth it depends on your situation, not on a rule.
Season win totals: alternatibo sa championship futures
If you have an opinion about a team but don't think it will win the title, regular-season win totals let you express it with far less dependence on playoff luck. The book sets a number, say 47.5 wins, and you bet over or under. Win totals settle in April rather than June, and they depend on 82 games instead of a short playoff run, so your read on a team's quality matters more relative to randomness. They still carry risks: injuries, trades and late-season resting can all swing the final win count by several games.
Cash out sa futures: kailan may saysay
Some sportsbooks offer a cash-out price on open futures bets. The cash-out amount is based on the current price with an extra margin taken off, so it's almost always slightly worse than a hedge you'd place yourself at the same book. Cash-out is convenient and can make sense if you need certainty, but compare it with a manual hedge first. If the difference is small, convenience may win; if it's large, hedge manually or keep the bet.

Bakit hindi magandang i-parlay ang futures
Some books let you combine futures, for example "Team A wins the East and Player B wins Finals MVP." Each leg already carries a large margin, and combining them multiplies those margins. Correlated legs, like a team and its own star, are often restricted or re-priced for exactly this reason. If you have a strong view, a single bet on the most direct market is usually the cleaner choice.
Injuries at load management: ang pinakamalaking risk
Teams increasingly manage star players' minutes during the regular season to keep them healthy for the playoffs. That can hurt regular-season records without changing a team's real title chances, which is one reason markets sometimes keep a team's championship price shorter than its record suggests. On the other side, a serious playoff injury to a key player can sink a favourite overnight. When you hold a futures bet, follow injury news, but don't trade in and out on every rumour.
Checklist bago tumaya sa NBA Finals market
- Which market fits your view: outright, conference, series, exact result, or MVP?
- What's the margin? Add up the implied chances.
- What's your own estimate, written before checking the price?
- How long will your money be tied up?
- Is the stake small enough that you won't feel pressure to hedge?
- Have you checked the latest injury and roster news?
Mga madalas na pagkakamali sa NBA Finals betting
- Backing last season's champion in October because they're "proven." Repeat titles have been rare recently.
- Betting a longshot because it's "only ₱100 for ₱50,000." The price may be far below fair.
- Overreacting to a hot November start or an NBA Cup run.
- Forgetting that injuries in March and April can change everything; championship futures don't refund because a star got hurt.
- Stacking several futures on the same team: champion, conference, MVP. If the team stumbles, they all lose together.
- Assuming a team that leads 3-1 is a "sure thing." It usually is, but comebacks happen, and the price already reflects the lead.
Paano gumawa ng sariling championship shortlist
If you want to bet futures without overpaying, a simple process:
- List the five or six teams with realistic title chances based on last season, roster changes and health.
- For each, write your own rough chance before checking prices. Keep the total under 100 percent and leave room for "field."
- Compare your number with the market's fair chance (after removing the margin as explained above).
- Bet only where your number is clearly higher, and keep the stake small.
- Review after the trade deadline and again before the playoffs.
Most of the time, the honest result is that no futures bet stands out. That's fine. Single-game markets during the season usually offer lower margins; see our NBA betting tips for a game-day approach.
Mga tanong na magdedetermina ng 2026-27 title race
We don't make championship picks, but these are the questions the market will be answering through the season. Use them as a framework for your own view.
- Can the Knicks repeat? They return as champions with Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby. Repeat titles have been rare in recent years; health and the strength of a deep East matter.
- How good is San Antonio now? The Spurs reached the 2026 Finals around Victor Wembanyama after beating Oklahoma City in the West finals. Young teams that reach a Finals often improve, but the market will already price that in.
- Is Oklahoma City still the West's benchmark? The 2025 champions have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the two-time reigning regular-season MVP. Their opening-night rematch with the Spurs is an early test.
- Does Philadelphia's gamble work? Adding LeBron James, entering a record 24th season, and Jaylen Brown, the 2024 Finals MVP, makes the 76ers one of the most talked-about teams. Age and fit are the obvious questions.
- What does Giannis change in Miami? A two-time MVP joining a new team usually moves both the team's price and the East's balance. Early-season results will be over-read; give it time.
- Detroit, Boston and Denver. Detroit finished first in the East last regular season at 60-22 and Boston second, yet neither reached the conference finals. Denver still has Nikola Jokić. Each could be under- or over-priced depending on how the market weighs last season's playoffs versus regular-season form.
Write your own rough chances for these teams before checking any price, then compare. If your numbers are close to the market's, there's no bet, and that's a perfectly good result.
Regular-season MVP vs Finals MVP
These are separate markets. The regular-season MVP is voted on after the regular season, rewards a full season's production, and is announced during the playoffs. The Finals MVP rewards one series. A player can win one without the other, and a team's playoff exit has no effect on regular-season MVP voting. Because of the 65-game eligibility threshold the league introduced, a star who misses too many games can't win regular-season awards, which makes injury risk a big factor in MVP futures. The Finals MVP has no such rule.
Paano i-track ang futures mo
Futures are easy to forget about until June. Keep a simple note for each: date, market, price, stake, the market's fair chance when you bet, and your reasoning. Revisit it at the trade deadline and before the playoffs. Over a few seasons, this tells you whether your futures judgement beats the market or whether futures are just entertainment for you. Either answer is useful.
NBA Cup at championship odds
The NBA Cup, the in-season tournament with group play from 30 October and knockout games in December, has its own outright market. Cup games count in the regular-season standings, except the Cup final, which doesn't. Winning the Cup earns prize money and attention but has little direct link to winning the championship in June: teams treat the two very differently, and a Cup run in December says less about playoff strength than a full season does. If a team's championship price shortens sharply after a Cup win, ask whether anything changed besides the headlines. Cup outright markets also carry their own margins, so the same add-up-the-probabilities check applies.
Crypto at futures: isang dagdag na risk
If you bet with crypto at an offshore book, a futures bet adds a second exposure: the value of the coin itself. A championship bet placed in Bitcoin in October and paid in Bitcoin in June can be worth much more or much less in pesos than you expected, regardless of the result. For long-dated bets, many bettors use a stablecoin balance such as USDT so the peso value stays roughly steady, and only convert when they withdraw. Our guide to USDT casinos and sportsbooks explains the basics, including network choice.
Conference finals: ang huling hakbang bago ang Finals
The conference finals are often where futures holders feel the most pressure. If your team is two series wins from a title, its championship price has shortened a lot, and the market offers several ways to manage the position: the conference series price, the outright price, and later the Finals series price. Before doing anything, write down the outcomes in pesos for each choice: hold, partial hedge, full hedge, or cash out. Seeing the numbers side by side makes it easier to choose calmly instead of reacting to one bad quarter.
Live betting sa Finals games
Finals games are the most-watched of the year, and live markets are deep. The same cautions apply as for any NBA morning game in Manila: your stream may lag the data feed, prices change quickly after runs, and the 2026 Finals showed how dramatic swings can be, with the Knicks overturning double-digit deficits in all four wins. If you live-bet, set a budget for the game, avoid chasing, and stop when the budget is used.
Paano nase-settle ang Finals bets
- Championship futures settle when the Finals end. Most books settle quickly, but check your account if a bet stays open.
- Series prices settle on the series result; individual game results don't matter for the series bet.
- Finals MVP settles on the official announcement, normally right after the final game.
- Books publish their own rules for unusual events such as a series that can't be completed; read them once so you're not surprised.
Saan tumaya ng NBA Finals odds mula sa Pilipinas
Cloudbet is an offshore sportsbook licensed in Curaçao that accepts Philippine players and lists NBA championship futures all season, conference markets, and series and Finals MVP markets in the playoffs, with crypto deposits and withdrawals. It's not licensed by PAGCOR, so you won't have a local regulator if something goes wrong; read our legitimacy checklist first. Whatever book you use, measure the margin on futures before betting, because it varies a lot from one market to another.
Budget para sa buong season
A good habit is to split your NBA budget for the season before the opener: a small slice for futures, a larger share for single games, and a reserve you won't touch. Futures tie up money for months, so the slice you put there should be money you're comfortable not seeing until June. Our bankroll management guide walks through unit sizes and limits.

Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)
Sino ang defending NBA champion?
The New York Knicks, who beat the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the 2026 Finals. Jalen Brunson was Finals MVP.
Kailan pinakamagandang tumaya sa NBA championship?
There's no perfect time. Early prices carry more uncertainty and bigger margins on longshots; later prices are more efficient but shorter. Keep futures small either way.
Bakit mas mababa ang value ng longshot futures?
Outright markets often total well over 120 percent in implied probability, and much of that margin sits on longshots.
Gaano kadalas nangyayari ang sweep sa NBA Finals?
It depends on how strong the favourite is. Even a team that wins 65 percent of its games sweeps less than one time in five in our model.
Anong oras ang NBA Finals sa Pilipinas?
Usually around 8:00 to 8:30 AM PHT, in June. Confirm once the schedule is set.
Puwede bang manalo ng Finals MVP ang player ng natalong team?
It has happened only once, in 1969. In practice, the MVP almost always comes from the winning team.
Dapat ba akong mag-hedge ng futures bet?
Only if the potential win is large relative to your budget. Each hedge pays the book's margin again.
Legal ba ang Cloudbet sa Pilipinas?
Cloudbet is Curaçao-licensed and accepts Philippine players, but it is not PAGCOR-licensed. Bet only if you are 21 or older.
