"Isang leg lang ang tumalo, sayang!" Kung naglalaro ka ng parlay o accumulator, alam mo 'yung sakit na 'yan: four legs panalo, isa lang ang sumablay, at wala kang nakuha. That's exactly the pain acca insurance is sold to fix.
Acca insurance (tinatawag ding parlay insurance o "one leg lets you down" offer) gives you some money back when just one selection in your accumulator loses. Sounds like free protection, pero may fine print palagi. This guide explains how it works, the conditions you'll usually see, how much it's really worth in numbers, and the common mistakes that turn a good-looking promo into a bad bet.

What is acca insurance?
An accumulator ("acca", or parlay) is one bet made of several selections. All of them must win for the bet to pay. Acca insurance is a sportsbook promotion that refunds your stake, or part of it, if exactly one selection loses and all the others win.
The refund is usually not cash. Most often it comes back as a free bet or bonus credit, sometimes with its own rules. That detail matters a lot for the real value, as we'll see below.
If you're new to parlays, start with our parlay calculator: plug in a few odds and you'll see how fast the payout grows, and how fast the chance of winning shrinks.
Typical acca insurance conditions
Every sportsbook writes its own terms, but these are the conditions you'll see most often. Treat this as a checklist, not as the rules of any specific site.
| Condition | What it usually looks like | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum legs | 4, 5 or more selections | More legs = lower chance of winning |
| Minimum odds per leg | Each leg at or above a set price | Stops you from stacking very safe picks |
| Eligible sports / markets | Often football pre-match 1X2 only | Live bets, other sports or player props may not count |
| Maximum refund | A cap, e.g. a fixed amount per bet | Staking above the cap gets no extra protection |
| Refund type | Free bet, bonus credit or cash | Free bets are worth less than cash |
| Opt-in / timing | Must opt in or bet before a deadline | Missing this voids the insurance |
| Cash-out | Cashing out often cancels the insurance | You lose the protection if you cash out early |
| Void legs | A void leg can drop you below the minimum | Postponed matches can kill the offer |
How acca insurance pays out: an example
Example (made up for illustration): Carlo in Davao places a 5-leg football acca, ₱200 stake, every leg at 1.80. Total odds: 1.80 × 1.80 × 1.80 × 1.80 × 1.80 = about 18.90. The sportsbook's (made-up) acca insurance says: "If one leg loses, get your stake back as a free bet, up to ₱500."
- All 5 win: Carlo gets about ₱3,780 back (₱200 × 18.90). Insurance doesn't matter.
- Exactly 1 loses: the acca loses, but he gets a ₱200 free bet.
- 2 or more lose: the acca loses and there's no refund.
If he had staked ₱1,000, the refund would still be capped at ₱500. That's why the cap is one of the first things to read.
What is acca insurance really worth? The maths
To put a number on it, assume each leg has a true win chance of 52.6%. That's roughly what odds of 1.80 mean after you strip out a typical bookmaker margin. With five independent legs:
| Legs (all at 1.80) | Chance all win | Chance exactly one loses | Payout odds | Expected return per ₱1 (no insurance) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 7.65% | 27.6% | 10.50 | −₱0.20 |
| 5 | 4.03% | 18.1% | 18.90 | −₱0.24 |
| 6 | 2.12% | 11.5% | 34.01 | −₱0.28 |
Notice two things. First, the plain acca loses more value the more legs you add, because the margin compounds on every leg. Second, "exactly one leg loses" is much more common than "all legs win". On a 5-leg acca it happens about 18% of the time, more than four times as often as the full win.
Now add the insurance. If the refund were cash, a 5-leg acca would get back about ₱0.18 per ₱1 staked on average (18.1% × ₱1). If it's a free bet where the stake isn't returned, it's worth less. A common rough assumption is about 70% of face value when used at longer odds (and less at short odds), which gives about ₱0.13 per ₱1.
| 5-leg acca at 1.80 each | Expected return per ₱1 |
|---|---|
| No insurance | −₱0.24 |
| Insurance refunded as free bet (~70% value assumed) | about −₱0.11 |
| Insurance refunded as cash | about −₱0.06 |
So acca insurance genuinely softens the house edge on an accumulator, but in this example it doesn't make it profitable. These figures use assumed probabilities and an assumed free-bet value; your real numbers depend on the actual odds, margin and terms.
When acca insurance helps the most
- You were going to place the acca anyway. Then the insurance is a small bonus on a bet you'd make regardless.
- Fewer legs, near the minimum. On a 4-leg acca the "one leg loses" chance is higher (about 28% in our table), so the refund triggers more often.
- Stake at or below the cap. Anything above the cap is unprotected.
- Cash refunds or low-rollover bonus credit. These are worth more than a restrictive free bet.
When it's not worth chasing
- Adding legs just to qualify. If you'd normally bet a 3-fold, adding two random legs to reach the 5-leg minimum makes your bet worse, insurance or not.
- Refund with heavy wagering. If the refund is bonus money with a big rollover, its value can be much lower than face value. Our wagering requirements guide shows how to work that out.
- Short expiry. A free bet that expires in a few days can push you into a bet you didn't plan.
Free bet vs bonus cash vs real cash refund
The type of refund changes everything:
- Cash refund: best. You can withdraw it or bet it like normal money.
- Free bet (stake not returned): you only keep the winnings, not the free-bet stake. Worth noticeably less than cash, especially at short odds.
- Bonus credit with wagering: must be bet through several times before withdrawal. Value depends on the rollover and allowed markets.

Acca insurance vs related promos
| Promo | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Acca insurance | Refund if exactly one leg loses | Bettors who already play 4-6 leg accas |
| Acca boost | Extra % added to winnings when all legs win | Bettors who rarely lose by one leg |
| Early payout | Settles a leg as won if your team goes ahead by a set margin | Football favourites |
| Cash drops / rakeback | Rewards based on betting activity, not results | Regular, steady bettors |
Does Cloudbet offer acca insurance?
We couldn't confirm a standing acca insurance offer at Cloudbet when we last checked. What Cloudbet's published terms do describe is a 30-day welcome package worth up to $2,500, made of casino rakeback, daily casino cash drops and weekly sports cash drops based on settled sports bets, plus the Cloudbet Rewards loyalty program after that. Promotions change, so check the promotions page before you bet; don't assume any insurance applies unless it's listed. More detail on our Cloudbet bonus page.
Important: Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao, not by PAGCOR. Philippine law treats online gambling not licensed by PAGCOR as illegal, so understand the risk before you sign up anywhere offshore.
Comparing two acca insurance offers
Example (two made-up offers for illustration):
| Offer A | Offer B | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum legs | 5 | 4 |
| Minimum odds per leg | 1.50 | 1.70 |
| Refund | Free bet, stake not returned | Cash |
| Cap | ₱1,000 | ₱500 |
| Expiry | 3 days | None |
Offer A has a bigger cap, so at first glance it looks better. But Offer B needs one fewer leg (the "one loses" chance is higher), pays in cash, and has no expiry. For a bettor who stakes ₱200-₱500 on 4-folds, Offer B is clearly more valuable. Offer A only wins if you stake big on 5-folds, and even then the free bet is worth less than face value. The lesson: compare the whole package, not the headline number.
Should you build accas at all?
Honest answer: accas are entertainment bets with a higher built-in margin than singles. Each leg carries the bookmaker's margin, and those margins multiply. If you want your money to last, keep most of your betting in singles and treat accas as a small, fun side bet. When you do play them:
- keep the number of legs low;
- avoid "filler" legs at very short odds just to reach a minimum;
- don't mix in markets you don't understand;
- use the same small stake each time instead of chasing a big win.
If you track your accas for a month, you'll quickly see how often the "one leg" scenario happens, and whether insurance offers actually changed your results.
Checklist before you use acca insurance
- How many legs are required, and what are the minimum odds per leg?
- Which sports and markets count? Pre-match only, or live too?
- What's the maximum refund, and is it per bet or per day?
- Is the refund cash, a free bet, or bonus credit with wagering?
- When does the refund expire, and how do you claim it?
- What happens if a leg is void or you cash out?
- Would you place this exact acca without the promo? If not, skip it.
Do Philippine bettors see acca insurance often?
Offers like this are most often attached to football accumulators, since that's where most acca betting happens. For PBA or NBA parlays, insurance may not be offered at all, and when a parlay promo does exist it may be a boost instead. Either way, the checklist above still applies to any parlay promo you do find.
Common mistakes
- Thinking it makes accas "safe". Two or more losing legs is still the most common outcome on a big acca.
- Not opting in. Some offers need a tick box or a specific bet slip button.
- Using the refund on a long shot out of frustration. Treat the free bet with the same discipline as cash.
- Forgetting the cap. Raising your stake to "make it worth it" puts unprotected money at risk.

Play responsibly
Accas are fun because the payouts are big, but that's also why losing streaks are long. Keep stakes small and set a weekly limit. You must be 21 or older to gamble in the Philippines. Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)
What is acca insurance?
A sportsbook promotion that refunds your stake, usually as a free bet or bonus credit, if exactly one selection in your accumulator loses.
Is acca insurance worth it?
It improves the value of an acca you were going to place anyway, but in typical cases it doesn't make the acca profitable on its own. Don't add legs just to qualify.
Is the refund real money?
Usually not. Most offers refund as a free bet or bonus credit. A cash refund is worth more, so always check the refund type.
What happens if a leg is void?
It depends on the terms. A void leg can drop your bet below the minimum number of legs and cancel the insurance.
Does cashing out cancel acca insurance?
Often yes. Many sportsbooks cancel the insurance if you cash out any part of the bet. Check the specific terms.
Does Cloudbet have acca insurance?
We couldn't confirm a standing acca insurance offer. Cloudbet's published welcome package uses rakeback and cash drops, including weekly sports cash drops. Check the promotions page for current offers.
Ano ang acca insurance?
Promo kung saan ibinabalik ang taya mo, kadalasan bilang free bet, kapag isang leg lang ang natalo sa parlay at panalo ang lahat ng iba.
Pareho ba ang parlay insurance at acca insurance?
Oo, iisang konsepto. Ang 'acca' ay British term at ang 'parlay' ay American term para sa iisang uri ng taya.
