Sabong Alternative Games Online: Legal na Opsyon Matapos ang E-Sabong Ban, at Paano Ihambing ang Odds
18+/21+. Crypto only. Ad: we may earn a commission. Play responsibly. October 2026

This guide explains what is and is not legal now, which online games resemble the meron/wala format, how their odds and house edges compare, and how to avoid the illegal "online sabong" sites and agents that are still circulating. For live dealer options generally, see our live casino Philippines guide.

Bakit bawal pa rin ang e-sabong
E-sabong (electronic sabong) operations were suspended nationwide on 3 May 2022 after the disappearance of at least 34 sabungeros connected to the industry. On 28 December 2022, President Marcos signed Executive Order No. 9, directing the continued suspension of all e-sabong operations. Under EO 9, the following remain suspended:
- Live-streaming or broadcasting of cockfights outside the cockpit or arena where they are held.
- Online, remote or off-cockpit betting on live cockfights, regardless of where the betting platform is located.
- Auxiliary e-sabong operations such as off-cockpit betting stations.
Traditional cockfighting in licensed cockpits is not covered by the suspension. Under the Cockfighting Law of 1974 (Presidential Decree No. 449) and the Local Government Code, local governments license cockpits, and cockfights may be held only in licensed cockpits on Sundays, legal holidays, local fiestas and certain fairs, with restrictions on specific national holidays and election days.
So, in short: attending a licensed cockpit in person is legal; betting on cockfights online, or through a stream outside the venue, is not. "Offshore" or "international" e-sabong sites are not legal for Filipino players either, because EO 9 covers online betting on live cockfights regardless of where the platform is based.
Ang e-sabong ngayon: ilegal pero buhay pa
Illegal e-sabong did not disappear. The Department of Information and Communications Technology has reported taking down tens of thousands of domains and subdomains linked to e-sabong between 2023 and 2025, and the PNP has acknowledged that operators use VPNs, offshore hosting and constantly changing links to keep running. Meanwhile, the missing sabungeros case continues in court, with warrants issued against several accused, including police officers, and investigators recovering remains from Taal Lake for DNA matching. These are reminders that illegal e-sabong is tied to serious crime, not just a technical licensing issue.
Playing on illegal e-sabong sites means:
- No regulator to complain to if the site refuses to pay.
- Possible exposure to fraud, rigged outcomes and identity theft.
- Legal risk for players, agents and anyone who handles bets.
- Funding networks linked to crime.
Ano ang hinahanap ng sabungero sa isang alternative?
When former e-sabong players describe what they miss, a few features come up again and again:
- Two sides: meron or wala, simple and quick to decide.
- Short rounds: a fight lasts minutes, sometimes seconds.
- Live action: watching the result happen in real time.
- Odds that shift: llamado and dehado, with logro offered to the underdog side.
- Community: chat, kristo calls, the noise of the arena.
No legal online game is identical to sabong, but several share some of these features. The sections below compare them honestly, including what they cost.
Paano gumagana ang sabong odds (para maikumpara)
In traditional sabong, bets on the favoured cock (llamado, often "meron" in the arena's terms) and the underdog (dehado, often "wala") are matched, sometimes at even money and sometimes with logro: unequal odds favouring the underdog bettor. For example, at 10-8 odds, a llamado bettor risks ₱10 to win ₱8, while a dehado bettor risks ₱8 to win ₱10. The cockpit or operator usually takes a cut of winnings or bets, commonly called plasada or a similar term, which is how the house earns.
The math of 10-8: the llamado bettor needs to win more than 10 ÷ 18 = 55.6% of the time to break even before any house cut. If the true chance is exactly 55.6%, the bet is fair; the house cut then makes it a losing bet on average. Draws (tabla) usually return bets. This structure, two sides with adjustable odds plus a house cut, is close to how sports betting works.
Ang mga alternative, isang tingin
| Game | Two sides? | Round length | Live? | Typical house edge or margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baccarat (Banker / Player) | Yes | About 1 minute | Live dealer available | 1.06% Banker, 1.24% Player |
| Dragon Tiger | Yes | Under a minute | Live dealer available | About 3.73% on Dragon or Tiger |
| Sic bo Big / Small | Yes | About 1 minute | Live dealer available | 2.78% |
| European roulette red / black | Yes | About 1 minute | Live dealer available | 2.70% |
| Coin flip (provably fair originals) | Yes | Seconds | No (RNG) | Varies; check the stated RTP |
| Crash games | No (you choose when to cash out) | Seconds | Shared rounds | Varies; commonly around 1% to 4% |
| Boxing / MMA moneyline | Yes (plus draw in boxing) | Minutes to an hour | Live betting during the fight | Bookmaker margin, often 3% to 6% |
| Basketball (PBA, NBA) spreads | Yes | Two hours | Live betting | Bookmaker margin, often 4% to 5% |
House edges for table games are standard figures for common rules; actual games may differ, so check each game's rules and RTP. Bookmaker margins vary by event and operator.
1. Baccarat: ang pinakamalapit sa meron o wala
Baccarat is the game most often compared with sabong. You pick one of two sides, Banker or Player, the cards are dealt live in under a minute, and the result is final. Live dealer tables stream from studios with real cards and dealers, and many have chat features. Minimum bets on many tables are low enough to keep stakes small, which matters for anyone used to large per-fight bets.
- Banker: wins about 45.86% of hands, pays 0.95 to 1 (5% commission); house edge 1.06%.
- Player: wins about 44.62%, pays 1 to 1; house edge 1.24%.
- Tie: about 9.52% of hands; Banker and Player bets push. The Tie bet at 8 to 1 has a 14.36% edge, so skip it.
Unlike sabong, there is no "reading the rooster." No skill or knowledge changes the cards, and there is no llamado or dehado in the sabong sense; the Banker's slight advantage is fixed and priced in through commission. For many former sabungeros, that is actually healthier: there is no illusion that study or insider knowledge will beat the game. See our Banker vs Player odds guide for the full math.
2. Dragon Tiger: mabilis at simple
Dragon Tiger is even simpler than baccarat: one card for Dragon, one for Tiger, and the higher card wins. Rounds are very fast. With eight decks, a tie (same rank) occurs about 7.47% of the time, and on a tie, Dragon and Tiger bets usually lose half their stake. That rule gives the house an edge of about 3.73% on Dragon or Tiger, roughly three and a half times baccarat's Banker bet. The tie bet, often paying 11 to 1, carries an edge of about 10.4%. Dragon Tiger feels the most like quick meron-wala betting, but it is more expensive than baccarat, and its speed raises your cost per hour.
3. Sic bo Big o Small
In sic bo, three dice are shaken; Big wins on totals 11 to 17, Small on 4 to 10, both losing on any triple. It is a two-sided even-money bet with a 2.78% house edge. Other sic bo bets are far more expensive, from about 10% to over 30%, so if you play sic bo as a sabong alternative, stick to Big, Small, Odd or Even. Our sic bo payout table lists every bet.
4. Roulette: pula o itim
Red or black in European (single-zero) roulette is another even-money, two-sided bet, with a 2.70% house edge; the zero is how the house earns. American roulette, with a double zero, has a 5.26% edge, so choose European or French versions. Live roulette tables run about one spin per minute or faster, and many have multiplier variants that change the payouts; check the RTP before playing those.
French roulette at "la partage"
Some live roulette tables use French rules with "la partage" or "en prison": when the ball lands on zero, even-money bets such as red/black lose only half, or are held for the next spin. This halves the house edge on those bets to about 1.35%, close to baccarat's Banker. If you prefer roulette's rhythm to cards, look for these tables and read the rules panel to confirm.
Paano i-verify ang provably fair game
Provably fair originals use a server seed (kept secret until revealed), a client seed (which you can often set) and a nonce (a counter for each bet). After you rotate or reveal the server seed, you can paste these values into the casino's verifier, or an independent one, to confirm that each result was determined by those inputs and not changed after your bet. This proves the result was not manipulated after the fact; it does not change the house edge. Verifying a handful of bets now and then is a good habit, and a site that offers "provably fair" games without a working verifier is a warning sign.
5. Coin flip at provably fair originals
Many crypto casinos offer simple "originals," including coin flip and dice games, where you choose a side or a target and the result is generated instantly. Many are "provably fair," meaning you can verify each result cryptographically after the round. They are the purest two-sided bet available online, but also the fastest: hundreds of rounds can be played in minutes. House edges are set by the operator and shown as RTP or multiplier; a coin flip paying 1.98× on a true 50% chance, for example, carries a 1% edge. Because of the speed, use strict time and stake limits.
6. Crash games
In crash games, a multiplier rises from 1.00× until it "crashes" at a random point. You cash out before the crash to win your stake times the multiplier. It is not two-sided, but it shares sabong's suspense and short rounds, and many players watch the same shared round with a live chat. House edges vary by game and are often around 1% to 4%. The main risk is speed and the temptation to wait for one more second. See our crash game strategy guide.
7. Sports betting: boxing, MMA at basketball
For many sabungeros, the closest emotional match is sports betting, especially combat sports. Two competitors, a favourite and an underdog, odds that shift as money comes in, and the result decided in the ring or cage. The structure is genuinely similar to llamado-dehado betting with logro.
Paano ihambing ang odds
Sabong logro of 10-8 on the favourite is similar to decimal odds of 1.80 (risk ₱10, win ₱8, total return ₱18). The dehado side at 8-10 is like decimal 2.25 (risk ₱8, win ₱10, total return ₱18). In sports betting, a bookmaker might price a two-way fight at 1.80 and 2.05. Implied probabilities are 1 ÷ 1.80 = 55.6% and 1 ÷ 2.05 = 48.8%, totalling 104.4%; the extra 4.4% is the bookmaker's margin, similar in role to plasada.
For an evenly matched contest priced at 1.91 on both sides, the margin is about 4.5%: on average you lose ₱4.50 per ₱100 if the true chance is 50%. That makes sports betting costlier than baccarat's Banker bet, but unlike casino games, knowledge can matter: understanding fighters, styles, weight cuts and form can, for a minority of careful bettors, offset part of the margin.
Boxing at MMA
- Moneyline: pick the winner; in boxing, a draw is usually a separate outcome, and a moneyline bet loses if the fight is drawn unless the market is "draw no bet."
- Method of victory: KO/TKO, decision or submission; higher odds, harder to predict. See our method of victory guide.
- Round betting and totals: whether the fight goes over or under a number of rounds.
- Live betting: odds update between rounds, the closest experience to watching odds move in the arena.
Basketball
PBA, UAAP and NBA betting offer two-sided markets such as point spreads and totals. Games are longer than a fight, but live betting adds quick decisions throughout. See our PBA betting guide.
Magkano ang gastos: 100 taya ng ₱100
To compare fairly, here is the average (expected) cost of placing 100 bets of ₱100 each, ₱10,000 wagered in total, on each alternative, using the house edges above. Real results will swing widely around these averages.
| Bet | House edge / margin | Average cost of 100 × ₱100 |
|---|---|---|
| Baccarat Banker | 1.06% | about ₱106 |
| Baccarat Player | 1.24% | about ₱124 |
| Coin flip at 1.98× | 1.00% | about ₱100 |
| European roulette red/black | 2.70% | about ₱270 |
| Sic bo Big/Small | 2.78% | about ₱278 |
| Dragon Tiger, Dragon or Tiger | 3.73% | about ₱373 |
| Sports two-way market at 1.91 / 1.91 | about 4.5% | about ₱450 |
| Baccarat Tie at 8 to 1 | 14.36% | about ₱1,436 |
The cheapest options cost about a tenth as much as the most expensive. Choosing the bet is more important than any "system." Notice also that the expensive bets are often the ones advertised most loudly, with big payouts in bright colours.
Cost per hour: ang bilis ang tunay na kalaban
Sabong fights came in a steady but limited rhythm, maybe a dozen to a few dozen fights in a session. Online casino games can run a round every 30 to 60 seconds, and RNG originals far faster. At ₱100 per round:
| Game and pace | Rounds per hour | Wagered | Average cost per hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live baccarat Banker, 60 hands/hour | 60 | ₱6,000 | about ₱64 |
| Live Dragon Tiger, 90 rounds/hour | 90 | ₱9,000 | about ₱336 |
| Coin flip at 1.98×, 600 flips/hour | 600 | ₱60,000 | about ₱600 |
| Boxing card, 10 fight bets | 10 | ₱1,000 | about ₱45 |
A game with a low house edge can still cost more per hour than a higher-margin bet if you play it much faster. If you are used to the pace of a cockpit, choose slower games and set a round limit.
Mga "sabong-style" games na dapat iwasan
Some apps and sites present themselves as "virtual sabong," "animated sabong" or "sabong simulator" games. Before playing anything like this, check:
- Is it actually streaming real cockfights? If so, it is illegal e-sabong regardless of the label.
- Is the operator licensed? Check its exact domain on PAGCOR's official lists. Unlicensed "color game," "perya" or "sabong" apps distributed through links are high-risk.
- How are deposits handled? Payments to personal GCash or Maya accounts, or through "agents," are a strong sign of an illegal operation.
Legitimate operators publish game rules and RTPs, take payments through their own cashier and verify your identity.
Mga scam na nakatarget sa dating e-sabong players
- "Balik e-sabong na!" posts: social media posts claiming e-sabong is legal again, linking to sites that take deposits and vanish.
- Agent networks: "master agents" and "sub-agents" collecting bets through e-wallets, a structure carried over from the e-sabong era and now operating outside the law.
- Telegram and Facebook groups streaming fights and taking bets in chat.
- "Sure win" tipsters selling predictions for fights or casino rounds.
- Clone sites copying licensed platforms' designs with slightly different domains.
- Withdrawal "fees": demands for payment before winnings are released.
- Loan offers targeted at players who have lost money, often from unregistered lenders.
If you encounter illegal e-sabong, you can report it to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) or PAGCOR.
Payments: paano magdeposit sa legal na paraan
PAGCOR-licensed platforms take payments through their own cashier, using methods such as e-wallets, bank transfers and over-the-counter channels. Since a 2025 BSP directive, e-wallets including GCash and Maya removed in-app gambling links and shortcuts; you deposit from the operator's site or app, not from inside the e-wallet. Offshore crypto casinos accept cryptocurrency; you buy crypto such as USDT through your e-wallet's crypto feature or an exchange and send it to the casino. Never pay through an agent's personal account. See our GCash casino deposit guide.
Pagpunta sa lisensyadong sabungan
If what you miss is sabong itself, the legal option is attending a licensed cockpit in person on permitted days. Under PD 449, cockfights may be held only in licensed cockpits on Sundays, legal holidays and during local fiestas (up to three days), plus certain provincial or municipal fairs, and not on dates such as Rizal Day, Independence Day, National Heroes Day, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and election days. Bet takers and other officials must hold municipal licences. Check with your local government which cockpits are licensed in your area, and remember that gambling other than on the fights themselves is prohibited during cockfights. Watching a stream of the fights from outside the venue, or betting remotely, falls under the e-sabong suspension.
Cloudbet bilang alternative
Cloudbet, our affiliate partner, offers several of the alternatives covered above in one account: live baccarat and Dragon Tiger tables, roulette and sic bo, crash games and originals, and a sportsbook covering boxing, MMA and basketball including the PBA. It does not offer cockfighting. Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao, not by PAGCOR, and uses cryptocurrency deposits. If you use it, verify game RTPs, start with small amounts and set limits from the first session. You must be at least 21 to gamble in the Philippines.
Simulation: isang session ng 30 taya
A session at the sabungan might involve a few dozen bets. We simulated 50,000 sessions of 30 bets at ₱100 each on three alternatives:
| Bet (30 × ₱100) | Sessions finishing ahead | Average result | Worst 10% at or below | Best 10% at or above | Lost ₱1,000 or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baccarat Banker | 48.9% | −₱33 | −₱655 | +₱615 | 2.8% |
| Dragon Tiger, one side | 40.1% | −₱112 | −₱800 | +₱550 | 5.1% |
| Sports, 50/50 market at 1.91 | 42.5% | −₱138 | −₱899 | +₱438 | 5.0% |
Over a short session, results are close to a coin flip on any of these; the house edge shows up mainly as a slightly lower chance of finishing ahead and slightly bigger average losses. Over many sessions, those small differences accumulate. The sports line assumes you have no edge; a bettor who genuinely picks better than the market can do better, but most do not.
Paano umangat at bumagsak ang e-sabong
During pandemic lockdowns from 2020, physical cockpits closed and e-sabong platforms streamed fights from arenas to phones nationwide, with bets placed through apps and agent networks. PAGCOR issued a regulatory framework and licensed operators, and the industry grew very quickly. Concerns rose over addiction, debt and, above all, the disappearance of sabungeros linked to alleged cheating disputes. The Senate investigated, and in May 2022 the government ordered a nationwide suspension. EO No. 9 later continued it. Since then, legal e-sabong has not returned, while authorities continue to pursue illegal operations and the criminal cases connected to the missing sabungeros. Bills to ban online cockfighting outright by law have been filed in Congress but, at the time of writing, had not been enacted; the ban rests on executive orders.
Logro vs bookmaker odds: ano ang pagkakaiba
In the cockpit, logro is shaped by the crowd: how much money is on each side, the reputations of the gamecocks and handlers, and what the kristo can match. In a sportsbook, odds are set by the bookmaker using models and market information, then adjusted as bets come in. Two consequences:
- Sportsbook odds are usually sharper. Professional pricing makes it harder to find bets where the odds are clearly wrong.
- The margin is visible. You can calculate it from the odds, as shown earlier, rather than relying on a house cut taken after the fact.
"Value" in sports betting means a bet whose true chance is higher than the odds imply. For a fighter at 2.20 (implied 45.5%), you need a genuine belief, backed by evidence, that the true chance is meaningfully above 45.5%. Gut feeling about "who looks hungrier" is the same trap as believing you can read a rooster.
Live betting sa boxing at MMA
- Odds move fast after knockdowns or big moments. Overreactions happen, but so do correct adjustments; do not assume every swing is an opportunity.
- Streams may lag. If your stream is behind the live action, the odds may already reflect events you have not seen.
- Bets can be suspended during key moments; that is normal.
- Set a maximum number of live bets per event before it starts.
- Know the settlement rules: how draws, no contests and stoppages are handled.
Paano basahin ang odds online
Sportsbooks show odds in several formats. Decimal odds are the easiest for most Filipino bettors because they show total return per peso staked:
| Sabong-style | Decimal | American | Implied chance | ₱100 stake returns |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Even money (10-10) | 2.00 | +100 | 50.0% | ₱200 |
| Favourite at 10-8 | 1.80 | −125 | 55.6% | ₱180 |
| Underdog at 8-10 | 2.25 | +125 | 44.4% | ₱225 |
| Favourite at 10-6 | 1.60 | −167 | 62.5% | ₱160 |
| Underdog at 6-10 | 2.67 | +167 | 37.5% | ₱267 |
Implied chance is 1 divided by the decimal odds. Some Asian sportsbooks also use Hong Kong or Malay odds; our betting odds explained guide converts all formats.
Ano ang panganib kapag nahuli sa illegal e-sabong
Illegal gambling in the Philippines is penalised under Presidential Decree No. 1602, as amended, which provides fines and imprisonment for players and heavier penalties for operators, financiers, coordinators and agents. When offences are committed through computers or the internet, the Cybercrime Prevention Act (Republic Act No. 10175) can raise penalties by one degree. Agents who collect bets or recruit players face the greatest risk, but bettors are not exempt. Beyond the law, illegal platforms can freeze accounts, leak personal data or refuse withdrawals with no recourse.

Linisin ang phone mula sa e-sabong era
- Uninstall old e-sabong apps and any APKs from unknown sources.
- Leave Telegram, Facebook and Viber groups that stream fights or recruit bettors.
- Change passwords on e-wallets and email accounts you used with those platforms, and enable two-factor authentication.
- Check your e-wallet for saved or linked accounts of agents and remove them.
- Be alert to messages from "old agents" offering new sites; block and report them.
Crash game: ang math ng auto cash-out
In a typical crash game with a 1% house edge, the chance of the multiplier reaching a target before crashing is roughly 99% divided by the target. For 2×, that is about 49.5%; for 5×, about 19.8%; for 10×, about 9.9%. Higher targets win less often, and the average cost per round stays near the house edge whatever target you choose. Using auto cash-out prevents the "just one more second" temptation, which is the costliest habit in crash games. The exact edge varies by game, so check its rules.
Halimbawang linggo
Hypothetical, for a ₱1,250 weekly budget:
- Saturday evening: 20 hands of live baccarat at ₱25 on Banker (₱500 wagered).
- Sunday: 4 bets of ₱50 on a boxing or MMA card you have studied (₱200).
- Midweek: 2 PBA bets at ₱50 (₱100).
- No other play; the rest of the budget stays unused or covers swings.
- No reload if the budget runs out early.
That totals ₱800 in planned bets, with the remaining ₱450 as a buffer, not a target.
Laki ng taya at swings
Former sabungeros often bet large amounts on a single fight. Online, the same stake on a fast game produces much bigger swings over an hour. As a rule, keep each bet at about 1% to 2% of your session budget on even-money games such as baccarat or roulette, lower on crash games with high targets, and no more than about 3% to 5% of your weekly budget on any single sports bet. Smaller stakes do not change the house edge, but they keep a bad run from ending your session, or your month, in minutes.
Para sa mga OFW
If you are working abroad, the gambling laws of the country where you are physically located apply to you, and many countries in the Middle East and Asia prohibit online gambling entirely. Illegal e-sabong groups often target OFWs with "manood at tumaya mula abroad" offers, with deposits sent through relatives' e-wallets at home. These carry the same legal and fraud risks, plus the added difficulty of pursuing complaints from overseas. Protect your remittances: keep gambling money completely separate from money meant for your family.
I-track ang resulta mo
In the cockpit, wins were loud and losses were quickly forgotten. Online, you have something better: a full betting history. Once a week, export or review it and write down three numbers: total wagered, net result and hours played. After a month, compare them with the averages in this guide. Most players discover they wagered far more than they thought, and that their "system" or "feel" performed about as the house edge predicts. That knowledge is the best protection against chasing.
Live game shows
Live casino studios also run game shows: money wheels, dice and multiplier games hosted by presenters, with shared rounds and chat. They capture some of the arena's energy, but their house edges are usually higher than baccarat's, often in the range of a few percent up to more than 5% depending on the bet, and multipliers make results more volatile. If you try them, read the RTP for each bet type in the game rules and keep stakes small.
Mga habit mula sa sabong na dapat bantayan
Some habits common in sabong culture carry over to online games and can be costly:
- "Kilala ko ang manok." Confidence that knowledge or "feel" guarantees wins. In casino games, no knowledge changes the outcome; in sports, the market already prices public information.
- Bawi agad. Immediately betting bigger after a loss to win it back. Online, where rounds never stop, this can empty a budget in minutes.
- Utang. Borrowing to keep playing, from friends, lenders or "pautang" apps. Debt turns entertainment into a crisis.
- Following the crowd. In the arena, momentum and noise influence bets. Online chat rooms and groups can do the same.
- Playing all day. Cockpits had limited days and hours by law; online games do not. Set your own schedule.
Tatlong halimbawa (hypothetical)
Mang Rudy: mula e-sabong papuntang baccarat
Mang Rudy used to bet ₱500 per fight on e-sabong. After the ban, a friend sent him a link to an "online sabong" Telegram group; he deposited ₱3,000 through an agent and never received a withdrawal. He now plays live baccarat on a licensed platform with a ₱2,000 weekly budget, ₱100 per hand on Banker, and stops after 40 hands. Some weeks he wins, most he loses a little, and he knows exactly what it costs him.
Jomar: boxing bettor
Jomar enjoyed the analysis side of sabong, studying birds and handlers. He now follows boxing and MMA closely, keeps notes on fighters and bets only on cards he has studied, at most three bets per event and ₱300 each. He tracks every bet in a spreadsheet. After six months he is slightly behind, which he treats as the cost of a hobby he enjoys. Without his records, he would have believed he was ahead.
Liza: crash games
Liza tried crash games because rounds were quick like sabong fights. In her first week, she played for three hours straight and lost her whole month's entertainment budget. She now sets a 30-round limit per session, cashes out automatically at 2×, and uses the platform's deposit limit. She also took a two-week break when she noticed she was thinking about the game at work.
Mga madalas itanong ng dating sabungeros
Babalik pa ba ang e-sabong?
No one can say for certain. At present, EO No. 9 keeps it suspended, and proposals in Congress lean towards a permanent ban rather than a return. Treat any claim that e-sabong is "legal again" as suspicious unless it comes from an official government announcement.
Puwede bang manood ng sabong online nang hindi tumataya?
EO 9 suspends live-streaming or broadcasting of cockfights outside the venue as part of e-sabong operations. Streams of live fights circulating online are typically connected to illegal betting. Avoid them.
Mas legal ba kung offshore ang site?
No. EO 9 covers online betting on live cockfights regardless of where the platform is located.
Ano ang pinaka-"sabong" na pakiramdam na legal?
For many, live combat sports betting comes closest: two sides, shifting odds and a live result. For pure speed and simplicity, baccarat or Dragon Tiger. For the real thing, a licensed cockpit in person.
Anong alternative ang pinakamura?
Baccarat Banker (1.06%) and a low-edge coin flip, if offered with a published RTP, are among the cheapest bets, as long as you control the pace.
Aling alternative ang bagay sa iyo
| Kung ang hinahanap mo ay... | Subukan | Bantayan |
|---|---|---|
| Simple two-sided betting, low cost | Baccarat Banker or Player | Pace of play; avoid the Tie |
| Very fast meron-wala feel | Dragon Tiger | Higher edge than baccarat; fast rounds |
| Analysis and knowledge | Boxing, MMA, basketball betting | Bookmaker margin; overconfidence |
| Suspense in seconds | Crash games | Speed and chasing multipliers |
| Live arena atmosphere | Live dealer tables with chat | Group pressure to keep betting |
| The real thing | A licensed cockpit in person | Legal days only; no remote betting |
Dragon Tiger: mga detalye
Besides Dragon, Tiger and Tie, many Dragon Tiger tables offer side bets: whether a card is big or small (above or below 7), odd or even, red or black, or a "suited tie" where both cards match in rank and suit. On many tables, a card valued 7 loses big/small and odd/even side bets, which is how the house earns on them. Suited tie bets pay large multiples but are rare. Payouts vary by provider, so the house edge on side bets varies; check the RTP in the game rules. For low cost, stay with Dragon or Tiger, and remember the half-loss on ties.
Live casino features na kahawig ng arena
- Live chat with dealers and players: social, but keep it from pushing you to bet more.
- Squeeze baccarat: cards revealed slowly for suspense, much like waiting for a fight to finish.
- Scoreboards and "roads": show past results; they do not predict the next one.
- Multiple camera angles: add atmosphere but no information that changes outcomes.
- Bet behind: some tables allow betting on another player's seat; same odds, same costs.
Paano pumili ng platform
- Licence: for Philippine platforms, the exact domain must appear on PAGCOR's official lists. For offshore crypto casinos, check the licence number on the regulator's site, and understand they are not PAGCOR-licensed.
- Identity verification: legitimate platforms verify age and identity; sites that never ask are a red flag.
- Payments: deposits and withdrawals through the operator's own cashier only; clear limits and fees.
- Game information: rules and RTP shown for each game.
- Responsible gaming tools: deposit limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion.
- Support: reachable, with written records of your conversations.
- Test withdrawal: withdraw a small amount early to confirm the process works.

Budget plan para sa dating sabungero
Many former e-sabong players are used to large per-fight bets. A simple plan resets that habit:
| Monthly entertainment budget | Weekly budget | Suggested stake per bet (about 2% of weekly) | Bets per week |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₱2,000 | ₱500 | ₱10 | up to 50 |
| ₱5,000 | ₱1,250 | ₱25 | up to 50 |
| ₱10,000 | ₱2,500 | ₱50 | up to 50 |
The entertainment budget should come after bills, food, school costs, savings and debt payments. Unused budget does not roll over; losses are not "recovered" by betting more the following week.
Pamilya at komunidad
E-sabong's spread during the pandemic affected many households: debts, lost savings, family conflict. If you are moving to a legal alternative, it can help to be open with your family about your budget and limits. If someone in your family is struggling, talk without judgement, focus on specific concerns such as missing money or borrowing, and encourage them to use self-exclusion tools and helplines. Recovery is easier with support than alone.
Isang tala tungkol sa hayop at tradisyon
Cockfighting is legal in licensed cockpits in the Philippines and has deep cultural roots, but it also raises animal welfare concerns that many Filipinos share. Moving to card games, sports or other legal alternatives is, for some, a way to keep the excitement of the game without those concerns. Whatever your view, the legal position is clear: remote and online cockfight betting is suspended.
Glossary: sabong terms at ang katapat online
| Sabong term | Meaning | Closest online equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Meron / Wala | The two sides of a fight | Banker / Player, Dragon / Tiger, fighter A / fighter B |
| Llamado | The favourite | Favourite (shorter odds) |
| Dehado | The underdog | Underdog (longer odds) |
| Logro | Unequal odds given to one side | Decimal odds above or below 2.00 |
| Kristo | Bet taker who matches wagers by hand signals | Sportsbook or betting interface |
| Plasada | The house cut | House edge or bookmaker margin |
| Tabla | Draw; bets returned | Push (e.g., baccarat tie on Banker/Player bets) |
Sports markets na pinakamalapit sa sabong
- Fight winner (moneyline): the direct equivalent of picking meron or wala. In boxing, check whether a draw makes your bet lose or returns it.
- Draw no bet: your stake is returned if the fight is drawn, like tabla in sabong. Odds are slightly shorter as a result.
- Handicap or spread (basketball): evens out a mismatch, somewhat like logro for a strong favourite.
- Live odds between rounds: the closest thing to watching the arena's betting shift mid-event.
Avoid multi-leg parlays if you want sabong-like simplicity: they multiply the bookmaker's margin across every leg and are much harder to win.
Paano malalaman kung tunay ang live table
Licensed live casino studios stream continuously from real tables, with dealers handling cards or wheels on camera, results shown on screen, and game IDs or round numbers recorded in your betting history. Warning signs of fake "live" games include looping video, results that do not match what is shown, no round history and no identifiable game provider. Play only through licensed operators, and check your bet history after each session.
Mga myths na dala mula sa sabungan
- "May suwerte ang ilang dealer o table." Dealers do not influence outcomes in properly run games.
- "Sundan ang streak." Like the momentum of a winning bird's handler, streaks in casino games are coincidence.
- "Malakas ang dehado ngayong gabi." In casino games, there is no dehado; in sports, underdogs win at rates the odds already reflect.
- "Babawi ako sa susunod na round." Every round carries the same house edge; chasing only raises the amount wagered.
Kung natalo ka sa illegal e-sabong site
- Stop depositing immediately, even if the site promises to release funds after another payment.
- Save evidence: screenshots of the site, chats with agents, transaction references and account names.
- Report the receiving e-wallet or bank accounts to the provider's fraud channel.
- Report the site and agents to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group or CICC (hotline 1326).
- Be wary of "fund recovery" services that charge fees to get your money back; many are scams themselves.
- Talk to someone you trust about the loss rather than trying to win it back elsewhere.
Senyales na kailangan mo ng tulong
- You spend more time or money than you planned, most weeks.
- You have borrowed money or sold things to keep betting.
- You hide your betting from family.
- You feel restless or irritable when you try to stop.
- You bet to escape problems or bad moods.
- You keep looking for ways back into e-sabong despite the ban.
If several of these apply, consider self-exclusion and reach out to a helpline listed on our responsible gambling page.
Kung gusto mo pa ring manatili sa mundo ng sabong nang legal
For many sabungeros, the gamecock world is about more than betting: breeding, conditioning, the friendships and the derbies. Those parts remain possible within the law. Local governments regulate cockpits and the commercial breeding of gamecocks under the Local Government Code, and licensed cockpits continue to hold fights and derbies on permitted days. Attending in person, following local ordinances, and keeping any wagering inside the licensed venue keeps you on the right side of the law. What is suspended is the remote layer that e-sabong added: streams to phones, online betting and off-cockpit betting stations. If someone offers you a way to "join a derby online" or "bet from home," that is precisely what EO 9 suspends.
It also helps to be realistic about why the ban happened. The e-sabong boom made cockfight betting available 24 hours a day to anyone with a phone, far beyond the Sunday and fiesta rhythm the old law intended. Whatever alternative you choose, recreating some of that old rhythm, with set days, set amounts and time away from betting, is the healthiest lesson to take from it.
Checklist bago ka maglaro
- I am not using any site that streams or takes bets on cockfights.
- The platform's licence is verified on the regulator's own website.
- I pay only through the platform's cashier, never an agent.
- I know the house edge or margin of my chosen bet.
- I have a weekly budget, a stake size and a round limit.
- I will not borrow money to play.
- I have set deposit limits in my account.
- I know when I will stop today: a set number of rounds or a set time.
- Someone I trust knows my budget and can check in with me.
Responsible na paalala
The suspension of e-sabong was partly a response to the harm it caused: addiction, debt and worse. Moving to another game does not remove those risks; online casinos and sportsbooks can be just as fast and absorbing. Set firm limits, avoid borrowing and take regular breaks. If you or someone close to you is struggling with gambling, our responsible gambling page lists free Philippine helplines and self-exclusion options.
Bottom line
E-sabong remains suspended under EO No. 9, including online betting on live cockfights from any platform, while traditional cockfighting in licensed cockpits remains legal on permitted days. Legal online alternatives include two-sided casino bets such as baccarat (Banker edge 1.06%), roulette and sic bo Big/Small (about 2.7% to 2.8%), Dragon Tiger (about 3.7%), crash and coin-flip games, and sports betting on boxing, MMA and basketball (margins often 4% to 5%). None recreates sabong exactly, but each shares some of its features. Choose low-cost bets, control the pace, verify the licence, avoid "online sabong" agents and groups, and treat it as entertainment with a fixed budget.
