Sa Pinas, MLBB ang hari ng esports. Pero kung naglalaro ka rin ng League of Legends o nanonood ng LCK at Worlds, LoL is one of the deepest esports to bet on: long series, lots of objectives, and markets that reward people who actually understand drafts.
This guide is for the Pinoy LoL fan who wants to bet with a clear head: what each market means, how a single map edge turns into series odds, how to tell if a price is any good, what to watch before and during a game, and where you can place LoL bets with crypto. If you're brand new to esports betting, our esports betting Philippines guide covers the basics first.

LoL in 60 seconds (for bettors)
League of Legends is Riot Games' 5v5 PC game played on Summoner's Rift. Each team picks and bans champions in a draft, then fights over lanes, the jungle and big neutral objectives like dragons and Baron Nashor. A game ends when one team destroys the enemy Nexus. Pro games commonly run somewhere around half an hour, though stomps can end much faster and close games can drag on.
For betting, three things make LoL different from MLBB or a sport like basketball:
- The draft matters a lot. Teams can win or lose a game in pick-and-ban before a single minion spawns.
- Snowballing. Early gold leads often turn into objective control, which turns into bigger leads. Comebacks happen, but less often than casual viewers think.
- Series formats vary. Some stages are best-of-one, playoffs are usually best-of-three or best-of-five. That changes how much a favourite's edge is worth.
The main LoL betting markets
Exact menus depend on the bookmaker and the event, but these are the markets you'll see most often on LoL. Third-party reviews of Cloudbet's esports section list match winner, map winner, map handicap, total maps, correct score and kill-based props such as total kills and kill draw-no-bet.
| Market | What you're betting on | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Match winner | Who wins the series | Your overall read on two teams |
| Map (game) winner | Who wins one specific game in a series | Side selection, draft reads, live betting |
| Map handicap | Series winner with a map head start, e.g. -1.5 or +1.5 | Getting a better price on a big favourite, or protecting an underdog bet |
| Total maps | Over/under number of games in the series | Matchups you think will be close (over) or lopsided (under) |
| Correct score | Exact series result, e.g. 2-1 or 3-0 | Higher odds for a specific read |
| Total kills / kill handicap | Combined kills in a game, or one team's kill margin | Fighting-style reads: bloody skirmish drafts vs slow scaling drafts |
Some books also offer props like first blood, first dragon, first tower or first Baron, and game duration. These are fun but often carry thinner limits and wider margins, so compare carefully.
From map edge to series odds: why Bo1, Bo3 and Bo5 matter
Here's the single most useful piece of maths for LoL bettors. Suppose a team wins any individual game against this opponent with a certain probability. How likely are they to win the series? Treating each game as independent (a simplification, but a useful one):
| Chance to win one game | Bo1 | Bo3 series | Bo5 series | Bo3 2-0 sweep | Bo5 3-0 sweep |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 55% | 55.0% | 57.5% | 59.3% | 30.3% | 16.6% |
| 60% | 60.0% | 64.8% | 68.3% | 36.0% | 21.6% |
| 65% | 65.0% | 71.8% | 76.5% | 42.3% | 27.5% |
| 70% | 70.0% | 78.4% | 83.7% | 49.0% | 34.3% |
| 75% | 75.0% | 84.4% | 89.6% | 56.2% | 42.2% |
Two takeaways:
- Longer series favour the better team. A 65% per-game favourite is only 65% in a Bo1, but about 76.5% in a Bo5. Upsets are much more common in Bo1 group stages.
- The -1.5 handicap is basically "win 2-0". In a Bo3, a 70% per-game team sweeps only about 49% of the time. If the -1.5 line is priced like it's a sure thing, it isn't.
For a 60% per-game favourite in a Bo3, the full correct-score split is roughly: 2-0 at 36.0%, 2-1 at 28.8%, 1-2 at 19.2%, 0-2 at 16.0%. That means the series goes to three games (over 2.5 maps) about 48% of the time. Use these numbers as a sense check, not gospel — real games aren't fully independent, because teams adapt between games and the losing side often gets first pick or side selection next game.
How to read the price and spot the margin
Every set of odds has a hidden bookmaker margin. To find it, convert each decimal price into an implied probability (100 ÷ odds) and add them up. Example Bo3 match-winner line (illustrative, not a real quote):
| Favourite | Underdog | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal odds | 1.55 | 2.45 | |
| Implied probability | 64.5% | 40.8% | 105.3% |
| Margin removed (fair) | 61.3% | 38.8% | 100% |
The extra 5.3% is the margin. Two practical uses:
- Break-even rate. At 2.45, you need the underdog to win more than 40.8% of the time just to break even. At 1.55 you need the favourite above 64.5%.
- Value check. If your honest read is that the underdog wins this series 45% of the time, a ₱100 bet at 2.45 has an expected value of about +₱10.30. If your read is 40%, the same bet is about -₱2.00. Small differences in your estimate flip the answer, so be humble about how precise your "read" really is.
You can do these conversions quickly with our odds calculator, and our betting odds explained page covers decimal, fractional and American formats.
What to check before you bet a LoL match
1. Patch and meta
Riot updates the game regularly with patches that buff and nerf champions and items. Big patches can reshuffle which teams look strong. Early in a new patch, results are noisier; teams that adapt fast often outperform their reputation for a week or two.
2. Roster changes and stand-ins
A missing starter, especially in the jungle or mid lane, changes a team a lot. Check official team and league announcements on match day. A stand-in announced late may not be fully reflected in early prices.
3. Side selection
Blue and red side affect pick order in the draft. Many tournament formats give the higher seed (or the loser of the previous game) side choice. In a Bo3 or Bo5, know who gets side choice in each game.
4. Region strength
Regional leagues aren't equal. Results inside one region don't translate cleanly when teams meet at international events like MSI or Worlds, where cross-region upsets regularly make headlines. Be careful betting a "dominant" domestic team against an unfamiliar international opponent purely on win-loss record.
5. Recent form vs sample size
Five wins in a row against weak teams says less than two close losses against top teams. Look at who they played, not just the streak.
Live betting on LoL
LoL suits live betting because the game state is visible on the broadcast: gold difference, towers, dragons, Baron timers. Cloudbet's esports section offers in-play odds on selected matches, according to third-party reviews, with availability depending on the event. A few honest pointers:
- Stream delay is real. Your stream may be behind the bookmaker's data feed. Don't assume you're seeing things "first".
- Prices react to big objectives. Odds usually move sharply after a Baron or an ace. Betting just after a big swing often means paying the new, worse price.
- Composition matters. A team behind in gold with a late-game scaling draft can be a reasonable live underdog; a team behind with an early-game draft that's falling off is usually in trouble.
- Markets suspend. During fights and objectives, bets may be paused. Don't chase.

Kills markets: a different kind of read
Total kills lines reward a read on how a game will be played, not just who wins. Two aggressive teams with skirmish-heavy drafts tend to produce more kills; two methodical teams that like to trade objectives can produce surprisingly low totals. Things that push kills up: early-game drafts, lots of dive and engage champions, teams known for fighting around every dragon. Things that pull kills down: scaling drafts, poke-and-siege compositions, and one-sided stomps that end quickly (fewer minutes, fewer kills).
Kill handicaps are trickier: a team can win the game while losing the kill count. Read the rules on how each market settles, especially for remakes or games that don't finish.
Where to bet on League of Legends with crypto
Our pick for Filipino esports bettors is Cloudbet, the crypto sportsbook and casino we cover across this site. Third-party reviews describe a dedicated esports section covering League of Legends alongside Dota 2, Counter-Strike and Valorant, with the deepest markets around top-tier events and thinner coverage on smaller regional leagues. Always open the match page to see what's actually offered that day.
From Cloudbet's own help pages and terms:
- Coins: BTC, ETH, USDT (on several networks including Tron, BSC, Polygon and Solana), USDC, LTC, DOGE, XRP, SOL and many more. Minimum deposits are around US$1 or less depending on the coin, shown on the deposit screen. See our USDT guide for stablecoin basics.
- Welcome package: up to $2,500 over 30 days for new users without another sign-up offer, activated by the first deposit. Sports bets earn weekly sports cash drops (settled bets) rather than casino rakeback.
- Withdrawals: typically processed within 24 hours per Cloudbet's help article, with minimums varying by coin and the network fee shown before you confirm.
- Licensing: Cloudbet is licensed in Curaçao, not by PAGCOR. Philippine law treats online gambling not licensed by PAGCOR as illegal. Know the risk before you sign up.
A sensible staking plan for LoL
- Use units. Pick a betting bankroll you can afford to lose and make each bet 1%–2% of it. ₱10,000 bankroll → ₱100–₱200 per bet.
- Bet less on Bo1s. They're the most random format.
- Don't stack correlated bets. "Team A to win" plus "Team A -1.5" plus "Team A first Baron" is basically one opinion bet three times.
- Keep a log. Note the market, odds, your estimated chance and the result. After 50–100 bets you'll learn whether your reads are actually beating the closing prices.
- Skip games you don't follow. There's always another match.
Our bankroll management guide goes deeper on unit sizing.
Example: reading a Bo3 (made-up)
Migs from Davao is looking at a made-up Bo3: Team North at 1.55, Team South at 2.45. He thinks North wins any single game about 60% of the time. From the table, that's a 64.8% series chance — just above North's 64.5% break-even, so there's no real value on the match winner. But his read also says the series goes three games about 48% of the time. If "over 2.5 maps" is offered at 2.20 (break-even 45.5%), that's the bet his numbers actually support. He stakes one unit, ₱150, and moves on. Win or lose, the process was consistent.
LoL vs other esports for Pinoy bettors
| Game | Platform | Typical betting angle |
|---|---|---|
| League of Legends | PC | Draft, objectives, Bo3/Bo5 series |
| MLBB | Mobile | Local scene knowledge, MPL PH |
| Dota 2 | PC | Long games, comebacks, drafts |
| Valorant | PC | Map pool, round handicaps |
If you follow more than one title, our MLBB betting, Dota 2 betting and Valorant map handicap guides cover those markets.
Common LoL betting mistakes
- Betting on the team you like, not the price. Fandom is expensive.
- Treating -1.5 like a lock. Even strong favourites drop games.
- Ignoring the patch. Last month's form may not survive a meta shift.
- Chasing live after a loss. Prices move fast; your emotions move faster.
- Big parlays of esports favourites. Several 70% picks combined quickly drop below a coin flip.

Mga Madalas Itanong (FAQ)
Can you bet on League of Legends in the Philippines?
LoL betting is offered by offshore sportsbooks such as Cloudbet, which is Curaçao-licensed and not licensed by PAGCOR. Philippine law treats online gambling not licensed by PAGCOR as illegal, so understand the risk first.
What LoL bets are available?
Common markets include match winner, map winner, map handicap, total maps, correct score and kill-based props. The menu depends on the bookmaker and event.
What does -1.5 maps mean in LoL betting?
In a Bo3, your team must win 2-0. In a Bo5, they must win by at least two games (3-0 or 3-1).
Why are Bo1 LoL games riskier to bet?
One game has more randomness. A team that wins 65% of games wins a Bo5 about 76.5% of the time, but a Bo1 only 65%.
How do I find the bookmaker margin?
Add up the implied probabilities (100 divided by each decimal price). Anything above 100% is the margin.
Is live betting on LoL a good idea?
It can be if you understand game state, but stream delay and fast price moves work against impulsive bets. Keep stakes small.
Does Cloudbet offer League of Legends betting?
Third-party reviews describe Cloudbet's esports section as covering League of Legends with match, map, handicap, totals and kill markets, deepest around top-tier events.
What's the best LoL betting strategy?
There's no guaranteed strategy. Price-focused betting, small fixed units, avoiding correlated parlays and keeping a results log are sensible habits.
